Underwater skimmer says otherwise.

It's just one anniversary gimmick. On top of that, they retcon skimmer lore, which originally evolved this way to avoid water.

If anything, this ability mostly serves to get out of water quicker than ever.We don't even know whether the collection will contain any underwater content or not.

lore doesn't matter, never has in GW2 it gets retconned when it needs to be. I feel like next expansion will have a lot of water content~ Which is why skimmer is being given the ability. Otherwise WHY waste the time when it LITERALLY will never be used.

Why did they change some elite specialization skills in regards to their usage underwater? Why did Glint and Jalis suddenly become available underwater?Underwater already was obsolete back then. This case is the same.

Not even once did Arenanet try to make Underwater content better. Even the Underwater fractal rework made is significantly worse.Seeing how the latest releases of on-land content Aren't all that good, I don't see Arenanet suddenly making great Underwater content.

That they abandoned designing Aquatic weapons years ago is another big indicator that Underwater content has not been on their table in a long time.

Cantha will be predominantly water if they wana do it justice. The jade sea should be mostly thawed by now as well we need to deal with bubbles; Underwater content is innevitable.
