It will be interesting to find out what roles centaurs and potentially krait play in the saga. I'd love to see us meeting some friendly centaur rebels from the Centaur Alliance and help them dethrone the Modniir High Command (or a new War King if such has risen since Ulgoth's demise) so the Harathi and Tamini can no longer have to fear reprisals from the more dominating Modniir. Maybe we could even use good charr and sylvari as ambassadors to try to broker an armistice between humans and centaurs (as centaurs respect sylvari as nature spirits, and charr have experience detailing the benefits of a treaty with their former human enemies) while Jennah could provide evidence from Caudecus's seized letters in Season 3 to prove that Caudecus was the driving force behind the war on the humans' side while Jennah always preferred a more diplomatic solution to end hostilities without demeaning centaurs or taking over all their lands.

    >

Only a few centaurs revere the sylvari as nature spirits.

Noctis the Facemauler: Plant spirits! By the living soul of the earth, I did not think it to be true.
Cai: Spirits of the land, that's us. We are angry at the humans of Ascalon Settlement. We've used our magic to chase the humans away.
Cai: See for yourselves! The gates are open and the streets are empty. Go there, centaur, and claim your prize.
Centaur: Noctis! The humans are fleeing into the hills. The spirit tells truth! The village is undefended!
Noctis the Facemauler: Gallop to the human settlement immediately. Bless you, spirits! The Harathi will long remember your deeds!

It see It seems that only Noctis believes that they are plant spirits though he may have lost that idea afterwards.

Cai: Perfect. The centaur defense crumbles...just as the Seraph swoop back in to retake the town.
Noctis the Facemauler: The Seraph are coming! Curse those trickster spirits! Retreat, and fight another day!

The centaurs have heard rumours of the emergence of the sylvari, but do not yet know what to make of them. Some, at least, believe the sylvari to be spirits of the land.

I take that more of the centaurs at the time being so unused to sylvari that they were mistaken as plant spirits by the more spiritual centaurs. Noctis isn't the only centaur to make that mistake, Ehrgen Cragstrider in Dry Top makes the same thought initially:

You are a rare sight in the uplands. Forgive this one for asking, but are you a nature spirit?

    https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ehrgen_Cragstrider

Sylvari aren't common to have expanded beyond the Tarnished Coast, even by 1325 AE, and would have less reason to interact with the centaur alliance of Tamini, Harathi, and Modniir. While the Modniir have focused less on spiritualism since Ulgoth took over, and this spread over to the other tribes, there was still some spiritualism much like seen in the Maguuma tribes. Having a culture that focuses on worship of the earth and nature spirits, seeing a sylvari for the first time ever wouldn't be surprising as to mistake for a nature spirit made flesh or something.

No the stupid cats have to have everything. Norn are an after thought like every other time in this games dang history; This is the first and last time we can expect norn to even remotely be touched. Wont be until guild wars 3 (IF it ever happens and they aren't wiped out) that we get more, which honestly I doubt they will even be playable with the neglect and just apparent disregard the dev's and writers have for them. Feels bad man.

I'm guessing we will see Bear in the next half of Drizzlewood, as we got the ceremonial outfit but didn't have anything in the map related to it.

I'm definitely ready to move forward from the Charr politics. I think a lot of people were excited to deal with the Charr stuff, but it feels like with both Norn and Charr stroy being crammed into this saga neither one of them are really getting fleshed out that much. I guess we've gotten a decent amount of Charr stuff but it feels like it's extremely focused on select individuals. Nothing about the ghost problem, not really much about culture outside of the prologue. I guess there ultimately isn't too much to dive into with the Charr but I'm a sucker for origin stories and I guess that's one thing I always look forward to when we dive into race-specific storylines like this one.

I'm hoping we'll get something more substantial with the Norn and co. moving forward.

It seems that the Norn story is over, lol it got one map with like what 3 characters and some stories in written form. They must have forgot or something

I just find it funny that Jhavi was billed as a main character but disappeared as soon as we left BM. Maybe she’ll return for Champions, but I’m sad she didn’t get more screen time.

Since we’re going to the map that has Vigil Keep as a prominent location, there’s a potential continuation to the Vigil story.

Only if the narratives actually remember...
In which case I'd expect a word about Laranthir (and some kind of ceremony for Almorra) as well.

I think Jhavi will suffer the same fate as Laranthir, generally cool backstory character with really small character development and usually relegated to really big supporting role for one off story and later forgotten , basically the Pale Reavers events and for Jhavi the Drakkar fight. Arenanet has made allot of characters like that and have trouble with remembering them to use them as recurring characters. They have the same trouble also with building recurring villains since they usually kill them off at the end of the arc for example Joko would have been perfect and i kinda have high hopes they do a good recurring villain with Kuda.
They tend to miss the forest for the trees and focus too much on one thing, then switch and focus on another thing and forget the first.
Also I think they were going in another direction with the story but halfway they decided to change it so it aligns with the expansion when they decided to make it.
The story would most probably be rushed.

Yep, that's exactly what I'm afraid of. That another part of the story is getting the HoT treatment.

There were some dev statements early on where they stated the back half of the Saga would be very different from the first half, and their intention to return to old maps to potentially expand or add content. Honestly I don't mind not having a new map, as the prospect of returning to old maps for new stories excites me. But I don't want to feel like the content is subpar or rushed. Hopefully Champions will have a robust story that continues some of the threads of the first half of the saga, but I can't imagine this was 100% their exact plan from the get go. I suspect Icebrood Saga was going to be longer, and that it would've eventually involved Primordus. Just not this quickly.

Well, from was was determined back when episode 1 came out, there was going to be 9 releases. A prologue and 8 chapters, and we got a prologue, and 8 other releases. so numerically it matches up from what we knew was going to happen since episode 1.

You can see her in one of the Episode 5 release page's screenshots, where she's standing in front of Lion's Arch:

Caithe also makes a return for Episode 5, inside what seems to be Brisban Wildlands.

Except that it was about portal tome additions (and it was Episode 2, not 1), and Episodes 1 and 2 counted as separate slots both going to Bjora Marches (different places in the map) per that_shaman. ANet then added Eye of the North, but Drizzlewood only has 1 slot afaik. So that just accounts for 5/9 slots.

Also, it has been 1 prologue and six releases, not eight. Prologue, 1, 2, VotP, 3, 4, Fractal.

Yes, I meant releases for the portal tome. Things like fractals are something else from what I meant.

The southern/northern parts of Drizzlewood have their own places the scroll with transport you, depending on which scroll you got. Southern takes you to the main camp. Northern takes you to the hidden camp IIRC. Though, like Bjora, you can only have on scroll in the tome. And the EoTN wasn't originally supposed to be part of the tome portal tome, it was only added after fan complaints.

    So it was
    0. Bound by Blood
    1. Whisper in the Dark
    2. Shadow in the Ice
    3. No Quarter
    4. Jormag Rising
    5. Truce
    6. Power
    7. Balance
    8. Judgement

A prologue and 8 releases for the portal tome, with the EoTN being jammed in there later. Other releases like the fractal, and Vision, not counting in what I originally meant. 11 releases total.

That's curious. Because with Bjora, I can end up in either western or eastern, but with Drizzlewood I'm 100% always in the main camp to the south.

Really? Now thats odd. Its supposed to be, according to testing, that if you got the scroll from episode 1(after it was retroactively added in), it puts you outside Jora's keep. If you got the scroll from episode 2(the Kodan village), it puts you on the western side of the mountains splitting the map.

After they added the portal tome in episode 2(thanks for the correction) I went and got the scroll from Jora's keep, and have never appeared anywhere but there.

It seems to be dependent on the meta from my casual observations. When I take note of the meta when I end up in western Bjora, Drakkar escort is either about to start or is ongoing. While if I'm in eastern, either the storms meta is going, or just happened.

I would figure the same for Drizzlewood but I've popped into southern camp even when citadel is being assaulted, more than once.

@Vancho.8750 " Bah Kuda? They surely already forgot that character. Remember that mini called "High inquisitor maut?" The last hints are from 2013-14 basic dialogue of Rata Sum: "Inquest has a pyramidal hierarchy" and "they are up to something, something big is brewing" both infiltrated whispers agents. And none of those affirmations have been confirmed in 8 years. No high inquisitor met. One of the higher ranked is Vebis in sandswept. Inquisitor, surely superior to overseer. Cuncillor Yahk may be the higher ranked. But well no news, no infos, disapointed that rata primus hasn't shown more revelations. (I don't even speak of infinity coil zone blue)

But if a coherance would have been to go, after alpha (zhaithan×mordry), beta (zhaithanxmordryxkralkatorrik); with the kinda expected
    Subject delta (zhaithanxmordryxkramkatorrikxjormag).
Also the technologies? They developped dominator modules to control minions (test bed zeleph), use draconic frequencies to speak with them (communication center sandswept), developping hybrids/abination using several energies (crucible of eternity and rata primus). Without saying kudu put primordius energy into the forgemen of sorrow embrace, and gave a destroyer specimen to the dredges. So technically, the inquest could right now, make an army of dragon minions under their control if they want.

Anyway, I'm more than worried. Because introducing primordius now, and dealing with it completely in 4 episodes hmm chapters, it's not enough and ofc will be rushed. It's the dude who drove the asura out of their underground megacities, threatened the dwarves and skritts. Can it really be dealt with and eliminated like nothing in 4 releases? /doubt. I can understand the rush to transition into cantha but it doesn't justify to ruins primordius arc into oblivion.
I've waited for primordius and worshipped its name since 2013 but it will sadly end with just erruptions around. And oh the eternal alchemy know I would hate if this is the case. Ignoring again depths of tyria? No. Not again. It requires at least underground volcanic caves map under tarnished coast, north of rata sum... in shiverpeaks...

Instead of capture and hold events, I would enjoy another thing: A phase where you prepare yourself like jahai northeast quest, by going around the map and recruit any kind of npc for a squad of 5 to help you fight a veterran/champ that have a chance to spawn at your location after time of preparation has ended. And maybe escorts, but not npcs but siege weapons like newly developped anything, if gathered, a legendary pop kinda in the idea of chak gerent but with a giant destroyer wyvern. With random events like extinguish fire here, heal there...
    Just my opinion.
