Why the Condi weaver nerf ? It's hard enough as is to pull numbers given its complex rotation, squishy glass cannon nature and it's reliance on perfect quickness and alacrity... Seriously...? And no nerf to the insanely OP axe 5 on soulbeast. Right. Makes sense.
As one of those very, very rare condition damage Deadeye players in instanced PvE, will you be providing further updates prior to release of the patch? It would be really nice to have an idea of what the changes will be prior to the patch and be in the same position as other professions.

Druid buffs are a step on the right direction. I like the immob bomb on staff 4, pretty significant. It is clear you guys really don't want any kind of hybrid build on the druid, as you keep pushing their support abilities.
I don't think these changes will be enough, but it's nice to see something. The profession can definitely get out of hand quickly.
What did you smoke my man?
The good stuff, obviously.
The numbers they tweaked aren't small, they're quite significant. But they arguably didn't tweak enough.
You can heal more now, have another immob bomb, and can reliably use glyphs to condi cleanse (with the trait). In other words, you don't need to slot additional condi cleanse beyond 2 glyphs, and the Celestial trait.
If you understood this, you'd see that the side-noder capability of the druid got some serious buffs.
Speed of Synergy: This trait has been reworked. It will now grant superspeed for 5 seconds to allies in a radius of 240 around the engineer when using a healing skill. Using a healing tool-belt skill grants the engineer 7 seconds of superspeed.
the problem with this trait is that the logn super speed is gonna get removed ALL the time by other shorter source sof super speed unles you implement a priority system for it that makes the longest sources overwrite others.
Soothing Detonation: This trait has been reworked. It now heals in an area around the engineer each time they use a tool-belt skill instead of when using a blast finisher with a fire combo field.
this trait worked in any combo field... do you guys not know your own game?
Once again just pushing scourge further and further into a more powerful position in wvw with that stupid "cast at point and at player location" stuff. Can I get that on my weaver? How about my mesmer, can his wells be cast on him and wherever I point my mouse at the same time? I don't understand the thought process behind that design choice and why it is being brought back after it was rightfully removed and the last balance patch was so successful.
Wow, I guess no matter how much you butcher elementalist, there's always more to butcher. I'm barely playing this game for a long time and I guess you're trying really hard to make me stop completely. I doubt there's any ele players left to even complain about these changes. Any fun is completely squeezed out of any build and I guess I'm never gonna step in raids with my class again since noone wants a useless squish that does not contribute any damage or support taking a slot in the squad. Which is probably ok since raids are as dead as my class.
Shade Skills: These have been changed back to triggering at both the necromancer's location and their shade locations with each use
I thought the idea was to reduce lag by decreasing hit caps... not unleashing the Kraken 2.0? Could this be PvE only?

Its an 8 second CD in WvW as well. It LAST 15 seconds in WvW.
And odds are its still going to be 5 target cap base because anet forgets these things they updated with the update for the shade placement update. This alone makes this update a wash and wvw over all a worst place to play.
Wonderful changes for Revenant, while I was reading it I almost felt like I was checking my wishlist altogether. This has greatly improvement my expectations from you guys.
Time to go update my posts in response from the team good work once this patch rolls out! Really hyped to invest more time in duels with those QoL changes, remember though. Mallyx F2 Facet /might/ still be a problem with it's Radius, keep that one under the radar, 600 activate radius is pretty strong and having it comparably set to 360 like Shiro would be an healthy change, Mallyx does have the utility to bring enemies together afterall with Call to Anguish.
Edit: Investigate Hammer again for Revenant, it's second skill is not completely up to the task yet in terms of a released product.
I appreciate the changes to Chronomancer as well, having the F4 with such a high cooldown while losing shatters on demand was a pretty high demand from player skills since clones happen to die pretty easily from anything.
Honestly if it was for Mirage, I'd say they can get their Evade back if they lose F4 for it. Depends, I'm not the expert but seems more of a reasonable trade off given they can evade at anytime.

We've prepared a Balance Update that is slated for next week and in keeping with our push to get the Release Notes to you early so that you can theorycraft, discuss and prepare. Quick comment, these release notes are not complete and in particular thief has more changes that we weren’t able to get localized for this early posting.
This is why you should read the whole thing
Imagine how long will it be that they didnt post it
No Explosives Entrance or Grenade Barrage adjustment or any substantial Herald adjustment which is wild since like every ranked game is like 40% Grenade Holos and 40% Heralds. Shaving some protection off the Elite Facet and the shield heal isn't going to do anything in terms of how dominant both condi and power herald are in PvP right now.
"Feel My Wrath is my go-to elite in PvP and WvW due to it's over-performing suportive capabilties!" - Said the single drunk guardian support who uses it
Really no reason to nerf its duration on allies in PvP and WvW, should have been PvE only.
Half of the engineer's utility skills are totally unused in all game modes, and they still go untouched... changes are only being made to already-established builds.
I hope future balance patches will focus on introducing unused skills and traits into the game. There are an astounding number of skills and traits across all professions that could be adding gameplay choices, but aren't.

Please keep an eye on the scourge change in WvW as well.
Do you know what changed in WvW between December 2019, when they altered the F2-F5 skills to only manifest around the player or the shade, and now? Nothing. Power Scourge was the primary bomb for squads back then, and has remained so ever since up until this day. Not. One. Thing. Changed.
People at the time complained that it wouldn't fix the dominance of Scourge in a WvW zerg, while also needlessly hamstringing the Scourge in PvE...and they were right. Just like we were right when ANET decided to remove Detection Pulse from Scrappers, only to to then shoehorn it in again.
That honestly is what frustrates me the most. It isn't the slow pace of the changes, the bugs that go ignored, and I'm not even entirely bothered by the "let's change this and see what happens" philosophy...it's that it takes them MONTHS to get to the part of "see what happens", realize it was a poor decision, and revert the change.
Anyone seriously worried about what this change to Scourge will mean for WvW going forward either wasn't playing WvW back in November 2019, wasn't paying attention then, or isn't paying attention now.
At the very least this means that Scourge will suck less in PvE...a issue that should never have been created in the first place.
Anet, why in the world are you nerfing revenant shield? The weapon has only recently become viable and you plan to nerf it into irrelevance again? Is this weapon on a hit list? It was the worst offhand we had for years and you're nerfing it again?
And why are you nerfing Facet of Chaos when the culprit to protection uptime is Draconic Echo? You already know that trait is the issue so why are you nerfing facets when we know good and well you won't revert the facet nerfs after you finally nerf Draconic Echo? This is gonna be the same story as Enhanced Bulwark was years ago, isn't it?

Nerfed condi weaver in PVE for what? Condi Quickbrand will now do almost does same damage with way easier rotation, you just proved again that you balance classes based on SC golem benchmark numbers.
Pvp notes are another disappointment.
Thanks for the patch notes, now I can delete in peace.
Please give Herald some buff, not just the things on this list, they're called OPTIMIZATION, not BALANCE.
Herald just being replaced totally by Renegade for long time. I don't care what changes you make in WVW/PVP, Herald just really bad in lots PVE situation. As dps role, Herald's trait and weapon skill only provide power option in most PVE mode, but its damage, not only burn damage but sustained damage are so bad even you run the perfect rotation that both FOTM and RAID nobody wants to use it. As support role, all the boon that Herald can provide are totally covered by any popular support class like chronomancer, druid or firebrand, even RENEGADE. The special herald skill Facet of Nature looks good for team with ancient echo apparently, but in fact the effect that facet can provide is very dispensable. The benefit you gain by trading off herald's dps and skill usage (cause keep F2 on will consume lots of energy) is so low that nobody will select it in team fight. If one Druid can covered all might stacks, who need heralds Facet of Strength? (and it only can give 8 stacks with no boon duration, 14 stacks with nearly 100% boon duration) If one Renegade can covered permanent alacrity for group, WHO needs herald's alacrity with Serene Rejuvenation? Especially tablet's range is so small, only give 5 ppl alac, 50% upkeep time with 100% boon duration.
NO ONE WANTS YOU TO PLAY SUP HERALD CAUSE ANY OTHER CLASS IS BETTER THAN YOU!

“Tries to improve Mirage usability”
-nerfs already bad utility
-increase staff ambush targets to 10
-makes PvE damage utility faster
What is this? The one PvP, WvW, and PvE token quota changes? And none of this fixed its usability in PvP, and even more so does nothing for power Mirage.
Phase Traversal: This skill now performs a pathing check before activation.
Is it christmas already?
/E: Apparently this does not mean that Rev can't teleport through half the map terrain without LOS for an unblockable quickness burst anymore, but rather that the skill won't trigger a CD if it can't somehow find a "path", so big F.
Shade Skills: These have been changed back to triggering at both the necromancer's location and their shade locations with each use.
I don't know what to say. This note alone makes this the worst balance patch since PoF. Hugely disappointed.
A series of better patches dumped into the trashcan just like that...

I think its fine given what chrono can do in return, the self shatter removal was overkill tho.
Legends: Swapping legends can now be done in midair.
Speaking of QoL.. Can you please make it so that swapping legends with F1 out of combat will not put legend swap on cooldown? Right now the same can be achieved by swapping legends manually in the dropdown list, which is a bit of a nuisance.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that they came to their senses with regard to chronomancer dry shatters, but I don't see the mesmer changes as anything that will actually help mesmer out of its terrible position competitively. I don't want to beat a dead horse, but what I really wanted to see was "We are restoring Mirage's endurance bar to 100% and reworking Infinite Horizon".

-A wise man once said- "Fight cheese with cheese or be cheesed in return, mind not those who will accuse you of being a cheese as they like cheese themselves"
Ok. Gotta say it ---- Anet 'balance' team has no idea how to balance competitive game modes. Good job focusing on the problematic classes. Just one tiny thing----Those that anet is nerfing, require buffs and vice verse.
More nerfs to ele? Check! More nerfs to guard? Check!
More buffs to engi? Check! More buffs to rangers? Check!
Random changes to revenant that will most likely end up being terrible bugged (as usual)? Check!
P.S. And just WOW ----- reverting chrono and scourge changes, and buffing druid? We have officially gone full circle now. -Facepalm-

Um.... I'm having a hard time believing this statement when Guardian is pretty much completely outclassing soulbeast on all levels and wasn't nerfed much. I'd take Dragonhunter's damage over power soulbeast any day. Same with Firebrand (or Mirage, depending on situation) over condi soulbeast . Is it a little too much? Maybe. But nerf the greater offenders first please.

IP back means only two trade-offs remain.
Daredevil had a trade-off of steal range for unbloackable and 0 trade off for 3 better dodges.

Are you sure you want to play that game?
How about Berserker
No core F1s, can only access F1s with an interruptible skill for a duration, Take more damage while doing so.
If I'm reading this right, Over Shield is still going to proc protection on yourself while you're in the middle of guarding. And now that Shield 5 lasts for .5s longer, you'll have .5s of protection uptime. So for the self, it'll still be pretty bad, but at least you'll be able to buff teammates now. Inventions still need reworked though.
As well, the things that apply immob for abnormally high amounts of time seems to not be getting hit at all, so immob CCs will still be very strong.
The greatest enemy to improvement, is ignorance. But the desire to learn will cast ignorance into the fire.

Yeah I have no idea what they are thinking. It's so rare you see a weaver in raids these days (I mean, power dps is a bit of a meme in comparison to soulbeast and holo right now), and even rarer to see a condi weaver amongst all the firebrands and rens. But yet they decide to pick on it?

What is this? The one PvP, WvW, and PvE token quota changes? And none of this fixed its usability in PvP, and even more so does nothing for power Mirage.
Is it christmas already?
/E: Apparently this does not mean that Rev can't teleport through half the map terrain without LOS for an unblockable quickness burst anymore, but rather that the skill won't trigger a CD if it can't somehow find a "path", so big F.
Explosive Holo wasn't addressed either.
R.I.P. Build Templates, 15.10.2019
they need to finally give ele and eng active combat weapon swap, I think it would be fair after all these years.
I don't know what to say. This note alone makes this the worst balance patch since PoF. Hugely disappointed.
A series of better patches dumped into the trashcan just like that...
I think its fine given what chrono can do in return, the self shatter removal was overkill tho.
Speaking of QoL.. Can you please make it so that swapping legends with F1 out of combat will not put legend swap on cooldown? Right now the same can be achieved by swapping legends manually in the dropdown list, which is a bit of a nuisance.
I imagine weapon swap will be coming to Ele and Engi with the new elite spec
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that they came to their senses with regard to chronomancer dry shatters, but I don't see the mesmer changes as anything that will actually help mesmer out of its terrible position competitively. I don't want to beat a dead horse, but what I really wanted to see was "We are restoring Mirage's endurance bar to 100% and reworking Infinite Horizon".
By that time Obsidian flesh will be like 120s CD and 500s Cd for Mistform; ofc attunement swap Cd will be 30s CD for attunement and shared between weapon sets
Plausible for merged Soulbeasts deadly pets give boost in expertise instead of precision? Seems odd when ferocious pets give power+ferocity.
Chrono had a triple trade-off, no IP no distortion and trash F skills.
IP back means only two trade-offs remain.
Daredevil had a trade-off of steal range for unbloackable and 0 trade off for 3 better dodges.
Are you sure you want to play that game?
The degenerate
Really nice patch, good job!
Makes no sense at all. Leave Ele alone
I am watching this on Roy's stream and can only say that they shouldnt have buffed chronomancer. Its completely broken in the past, it should be nerfed to ground. kitten HOULE WHOEVER THINKS CHRONO NEEDS BUFF. Anyways Speaking about life -> did you know their is people who cosplay warclaw. Any thoughts on that? put that in the balance patch. ALSO ALSO do you remember when that 50 year old guy had won that friendship contest with that 20 year old, pretty PMA. I actually hope they add that to every balance patch to show how active the community is. Really positive boys.
IsCmCAlive?
After latest February patch which was step in good direction, this one is 10 step backwards, especially for wvw. (necro changes with shades and wells)
freecmc !!
Wow, these are garbage changes. Scourge is in a good spot right now, why on earth would you make them so dominant that they push out every other dps class again? Back to pirate shipping only for wvw =/
And no nerfs to pulsing immobilize on ranger? wut? do you guys play your game?
LMAO how can one be so wrong
