Necro traits

Boon Corrupting is unique to Necromancer and it has multiple options to strip Boons as well. It is the definitive Boon-hate class, and with how plentiful Boons are, that's a pretty powerful thing to be a master of. It has also been the backbone of WvW zerging since the beginning, and still remains so.

You will need to put more effort in to succeed solo or small scale, but that's a small price to pay for the immense durability and Boon-hate that Necro enjoys.

If new elite specs ever become a reality, I do think Necro could benefit from something different that has high mobility, blocks or something to that effect. But the class as a whole is fine as is.

Sure you can get that, on the condition that all other classes get shroud and can tank 5+ people while regening more shroud than they do damage and if by some miracle you manage to break through the shroud, it's back to 100% as soon as the cd is up.

I mean a permastealth deadeye with shroud does not sound at all OP.

I think the "long range" dps is already there, both throught Lich's AA and the various AoE of the necromancer's kit. I would say that there is no need for "more" of that.

  • Immob: The game would be better with less of that.
  • Superspeed: unneeded granted runes of speed exist.
  • Stealth/stability/evasion/block: You'd have to rethink what roles the shroud/necromancer's main mechanism cover before adding those.

In terms of long range dps: yeah that's the intended hardcounter to necro in general. And that's the reason why speed rune is mandatory for necro, if you want to avoid that a target with strong range options has basically an "auto-win-mechanic" against you.

The best defense against long range dps is a blade of grass, or a bump in the ground. Nothing frustrates a ranger more than seeing constant "Obstructed" messages.
