Minor sigils & runes

Sometimes that's not an option, not everything comes in bags so you end up running out of inventory space and need to salvage. At which point, 1 rune for every 2 items salvaged.

And with this halloween event on, i won't even say how my inventory looks.

It's all there to get you to buy bags. I have a minimum of 30 items in my inventory that i'm required to carry around with me and my bank is full. Don't like it? Well i'll have to buy inventory slots, more bags and more bank slots.

All the crap is there just to clutter your inventory, and while i don't appreciate the constant inventory management (i'd actually like to play the game, not have my bags open all the time), it's there to get you to spend money, nothing else. Don't expect Anet to do anything about it, they'll only add more stuff, they'll never let us junk runes and make some kind of a "keychain" slot for the 20 key items you need for each map you're on. Well, not unless you have to pay for it.

Just destroy or sell the runes.

Salvaging greens still fills inventory with sigils, especially the better salvage item you use the more sigils in your inventory, which ends up you not making any inventory space salvaging greens. Not to mention most of the sigils are low tier and sell for like 16c only, which makes those sigils even more annoying lol.

I think a button next to "sell junk" as "sell minor runes/sigils" would be nice. Though, I can see why it could be put under "sell junk" and it would be more convienant than adding another button. And if a low-level player wants to use the minor runes/sigils for some odd reason, but they hit the "sell junk" button, they can always use the buyback to get them.

So, I'm in favor of this either way. :) (always have been, those runes/sigils are annoying!)

On a side-note: if I happen to have four minor runes, I toss them in Mystic Forge and usually I get a Major Rune. And sometimes, I get a minor rune which sells for even less than 16c (happened today. I got a Minor Rune of Water after tossing four minor runes in the MF; for some odd reason, the Minor Rune of Water sold to a vendor for 5-6c. Wat.).

Anet should think about unlocking runes and sigils for legendaries, for example 10 superiors, 20 majors and 50 minors runes of strength on Mystic forge with legendary armor could unlock the strength runes permanently for that armor piece. This could create a demand on the tp for all those, and we could change runes/sigils at will.

Yes and create a vacuum after that because, after the players with legendaries buy their first runes in the first 2 seconds this theoretically comes live, they unlock those runes permanently for the piece and never have to buy runes again.

Anyway, complain all you want, but this is all designed for you to buy inventory slots and Anet knows it. They won't give us the option because they want you to spend more money. That's why we have so many useless items cluttering our inventories at all times. For example. HoT maps each have their own currency for "key" items. And each takes 1 inventory space. That's Crowbars, Ex Keys, Chak acid and machettes. 4 of them. Silverwastes has 3 (key, shovel and map). That's 7 already. PoF has casino coins and trader's keys. 9. On top of that you get items like sand piles, aetherkeys, new PoF stuff that i don't even know what it's for that has the "double click to turn 10 of item into another item" description. That's another minimum 5 inventory slots for that. Minimum. So that's 14 already. Then you lug around your salvage tool. 15. Mithril because you can't deposit more than 250 and everything salvages into mitril, even leather boots. 16. And i'm not even counting Bloodstone dust, Emperyal fragments and Dragonite ore that will inevitabely clutter your inventory because, for an ascended crafting material, it sure as hell isn't rare. That stuff is everywhere. So let's say another 4 slots for various mats you can't sell or deposit. 20 slots, 1 bag full of stuff you can't get rid of.

Now. Quest items, food, boosters and other stuff you happen to have with you i won't count, but let's just say, 30 of my bag slots are locked to items i can't remove. And no i can't put them in my bank because my bank is also full of items i keep for various builds, legendary crafting materials and other stuff i don't need for a while.

Add halloween to this and my bags are filled with another 10 slots at least.

So, with the above all done on porpose to make you buy bags, do you really thing Anet will add an option to bulk sell runes?Lol!

I mean, i love the game, but it has one of the worst inventory clutter i've ever seen in a game, MMO or singleplayer. Eah map has it's own currency and keys, some have even several, the layered (double click 5 to make 1 more) items, quest items, items that you need for collections (it's never explained if it's safe to sell or salvage, also probably on purpose).

Key items could have their own bag tab like, 10 slots, layered items their own and quest and "utility" (Leevi's device) items their own.That way you'd know what items are in what category, and not have to manage your inventory all the time.

So when it comes to bulk selling runes, i wouldn't hold my breath. :wink:

Have also thrown that one and/or creating more demand for them out there. This also wouldn't be an issue if we had some recipes that required these as a crafting material. Under the concept of them being salvaged, just lower the odds of successful salvaging and then you keep the supply demand of lower tier materials in place and give the player more of a choice, toss in forge, sell, breakdown. Its a shame they are trash loot, hate to see any craftable item be branded so even if that is the trend in game.

I vote NO on insta sell for runes/sigils. My vote is to make them ALSO salvageable. I'd rather have more crafting materials than 10c.

Of course, I also always throw 100% of my runes/sigils into the Mystic Forge and promote them, so I wouldn't be salvaging until they reach Superior level anyway.

This is a constant complaint .... but I bank a full line of runes and sigils before scrapping.

Ive posted this before, that this is the cheapest "Mystic Forger" daily in game. If you were to buy the runes and sigils it would cost less than 1 silver ...But since they drop in abundance, i bank them, throw 4 into the forge when its the daily, and get back a mystic coin that sells from 80s-1g.

They have worth, even if you dont see it :P

So you get 1g once a month when that daily shows up, and in the meantime you're wasting bank space on 4 or more runes that you keep just for that random daily to show up?

Couldn't you just... I dunno... Do literally anything else and get the runes that day from salvaging (because you salvage stuff anyway), then throw them in the mystic forge?

I mean, what you're doing just doesn't make sense but whatever.

I would like this, maybe if it were a variation on the Mystic Salvage Kit recipe? I use those almost exclusively simply because I can have them by the full 250 stack (otherwise I'd need 10 bag slots for salvage kits to go farming.)

Its clear many players are annoyed by those sigils and runes, i just don't want them period.

If some people do want them thats fine also, just let me mark them as junk, and sell them to vendor, if i get 10+ different kinds i need to manually click drag and click delete.. that alot of clicking.HoT maps, silverwastes, bloodstone fen, bitterfrost, sirens landing.. its an endless click disaster, i like playing these maps (besides TD) but really avoid (play these maps less then i would like) them because of the frustrating inventory management.

I really don't understand why these runes/sigils are part of rewards in lvl 80 zones anyway, there are a billion on the TP and they don't have value..i also delete the major ones btw.

Now im on the topic of rewards, this also can be better.. there are a ton of exotics worth 5 to 60 gold.. this could also be dropped on occasion.Opening 10 epic chests and getting 1x exotic worth 1 gold isn't exiting and you can do better Arenanet.. you really can.

The point is to limit your bag space. You're not intended to be able to go out indefinitely without vendoring away your junk. This motivates you to either get a summon-vendor item at the gem store, or to return to town now and then. It's not an error that needs fixing - it's deliberate.
