do we have to use steam?

not computer savy, and dont know what steam is about, but do not want to lose 10 years of playing and start over, so can someone in the know tell me if i have to switch or can i continue on where i am. and if i continue will i be able to get upcoming expansions????

No you don't need to use Steam and the expansions won't need Steam either.

Steam is just another platform to access GW2 game from. Everyone already playing will be sticking with the regular launcher and watch new Steam players join in through that platform.
