does ranked match making ever get any better than unranked?

or is it always lopsided either way with the occasional kinda fun close game?

im new to ranked so just asking

also any helpful tips are appreciated! always willing to learn

Not really.

Low population of players and broken easily exploitable features breaks matchmaking. With the current situation and how matchmaking works, it tends to value quantity over quality of matches.

I've always had a much better and easier experience in ranked then in unranked.

Both unranked and ranked are the same clown show.Unlike other games' rated modes, the MMR in GW2 doesn't even try to match up teams with similar skill.

And then there are bots, win trading, people disconnecting on purpose and probably even more kinds of match manipulation.

id say ranked is like 20% less of a shitfest than unranked... still not even close to being good tho :D

It does try, the issue is rampant boosting ruins any matchmaking attempts the game tries to do.

Ranked is better than unranked but not that much

I have more fun in unranked than ranked but that's maybe a low level thing.
