what are the circular glowing around characters feet

I have been noticing a couple of different glowing on the ground around some characters 1 has what appears to be runes and is whitish the other is blue and looks like smoke what are they how do I get the blue smoke 1

If you could provide a screen shot, I may be able to answer this.

You probably saw a Herald with one or more facets active. Its one of the unique specialization mechanics of that revenant elite class.

The blue smoky effect, I think it’s a guardian. I’m not sure which elite spec as I’ve only seen it on my guardian when I’m in the PvP lobby.

sounds like legendary weapon effects, the runes sound like HOPE, or The Shining Blade, the blue smoke might be the binding of Iposthere are also some gemstore outfits that provide a cosmetic aura, like the Ghostly outfit

I use it sometimes. It's an Elite healing sigil that pulses in combat when off CD and does 100% heal when you cast it, 5 targets.

Herald buffs and Ghostly infusion?

That makes sense. It started appearing after an expansion as a glowing blue area under my guardian’s feet when I went to the PvP lobby. That skill was probably part of a placeholder skill set that ANet gave characters at that time. Since I don’t PvP and don’t use that skill in PvE, for me it was a random guardian effect for an unknown reason
