BUG: Magic Carpet Incompatible With Mounting

The Magic Carpet, which sells for 250 gems, is worthless due to a bug that prevents mounting. Further, players are unable to switch to the Magic Carpet while mounted.

Repro Steps for ArenaNet: Scenario 1

1. Double Click the Magic Carpet item in inventory.
2. Attempt to mount.

Expected Behavior:

• The player mounts.

Actual Behavior:

• Nothing happens. No errors, notification messages or explanation.

Repro Steps for ArenaNet: Scenario 2

1. Mount.
2. Double Click the Magic Carpet item in inventory.
3. Attempt to mount.

Expected Behavior:

• The player dismounts and begins riding the Magic Carpet. If airborne, the player instead switches to their glider. (which may also be the Magic Carpet)

Actual Behavior:

• Console Error: "You cannot use this item right now."

These bugs probably also occur with any other novelty toys. (e.g. riding broom, etc.) I can tell you for certain I won't be buying them until these bugs are fixed!

If ArenaNet does not plan to fix these bugs, at least warn players that these types of novelties are incompatible with mounting and eat the cost in lost sales.

The magic carpet and similar items work as intended IMO as they were there when mounts did not exist

I just bought $100 of Gem Cards from Best Buy now that they're on sale for 2000gems/$20. I was considering buying the carpet but thank goodness came across this post.

As the OP stated, if this is in fact working as intended, they should put something in the item descriptions that clearly states...

"THIS ITEM DOES NOT WORK WITH MOUNTS"

Does this bug also happen with the Electromagnetic Ascender, or like all toys?

I like the Electromagnetic Ascender that's in the promotions now, but if it's not compatible with mounts... meh.
