The usage of Fractal Ascended ring?

I collected kind of .. 40 ascended rings from fractal jobs, then still don't know how to use. Salvage for materials or exchange as currency? I could not find the answer on Gw2 Wiki

Salvage what you dont need with ascended salvage kits.

Salvage generally unless you are going to use them. You get a better payoff if you attune them first for an additional roll (i.e. salvage gives you one additional salvage result and will always be worth it).
