Tengu were annonced since the beginning of "champions" as allied faction, but don't expect new map.

Yeah Tengu were to be expected, but I did not expect a reference to the Dominion. More like a reference to the Bloodtide Coast and Jormag trying to pull a Zhaitan and deal with Lion's Arch (in their own way).

Still, if we end up getting a DRM inside the Dominion, Ill be happy to know how the place looks.

@Randulf.7614 said:Is that Primordus? If so, what part of it are we looking at there?

No idea lmao. Looks too small compared to S3 (i wouldn't like them to change Primordus' size, but given how they did it with Kralkatorrik, I imagine he will look smaller in a cutscene?).

Who knows, maybe it's Primordus' current top Lieutenant and if Braham defeats it, he becomes the champion lol.

I would like to hear Primordus' voice though if that's him.

It was nice to see the Tengu and here’s hoping we get to actually go inside the Domain of the Winds but I doubt it.

With that said though, trailer seemed underwhelming but I also get this strange sense that like what others have mentioned, Braham might become Primordius’ champion since it seems we have varying characters playing the champion role to specific dragons.

However with that said, I feel that in the final chapter next month, the deep sea dragon and their champion will come in and likely kill off both primordius and jormag and absorb their power. Realistically speaking, the deep sea dragon would have more domain and influence across tyria if it’s powers are link to water. But that’s just my opinion.

The other scenario that could happen is that the deep sea dragon just swoops in to interfere and injures both primordius and jormag, sending them to retreat until we have to deal with ALL the dragons again in EoD.

The Dominion of the Winds reference is likely the Caledon DRM. It also looks like we're getting the Bloodtide Coast one as well. I don't see FIreheart Rise unless that's where Primordus and Braham were, so perhaps we're getting just two with this update. (EDIT: Looks like we are getting Fireheart Rise with this update)

Also... more prismatacite grind! For the new skins. Most likely.. Hurray...

@Tazer.2157 said:I really hope the missions are more varied and focus on some level of cooperation between players. DRMs work best as group content. We have enough of escort quests already.

I've been doing the daily three DRMs every day and I've personally found that they work best solo. I clear them quicker solo than I have in most pug groups.

Why do people get this from the trailer? I seriously don't get it. You think Primordius wants/needs a Champion? I doubt it.

Also, from the details about this chapter.

Scry into the PastPlay as Braham Eirsson in a solo story mission, and use his powers and skills on a journey to seek the meaning of the Owl Spirit’s prophecy.

I'm pretty sure Braham is just finding a way to end the elder dragon cycle without having to side with Jormag. It should be obvious by now that the combined power of all the Spirits of the Wild can contend with an elder dragon, if not defeat it. If the Great Spirits didn't leave Owl and the other's behind in order to guide the norn, they possibly could have defeated Jormag, but at the cost of certain norn extinction. The spirits (along with Koda) have all been about "balance" as well. So, I don't think Braham is the Champion of Primordus, but more likely the Avatar of the Spirts.

I read that as the third form also being the final form.

(I keep wanting to make DBZ/DBS references)

Can't say I'm excited. That ice frozen floor deco is a nice thing. However I am very scared regarding the last shot with primordius, feels there would be a bullshit with spirits and boom primordius defeated. I'm hating more and more the turn of the story since the first chapter.

The four episodes made an interesting build up of lore and environment but many have been abandonned quite rapidly disapointly: the whispers have been shown as a big threat, with those strange npcs around core maps preaching jormag... nothing happened. Drakkar was just a spam 1 on its feet fight. The second bjora was interesting regarding the creepy visions. The boneskinner was advertised as a big thing, ended again just as a spam 1 fest, not a lot of big mechanics. The strikes version is interesting, but too powerful. After kodan, fraenir, steel warband and shiverpass it feels like the strikes difficulty sky rocketed stupidly.

The shot with the ice construct assaulting tengu wall of caledon looks dope not gonna lie, but if the Dragon Repetitive Mission are like the episode 2 ones, just going after powerful svanir individual, welp. Still better than 2012 destroyers.

Those weapons skins feels like it would require players to have the azure and crimson sets, and that make me angry and I'm beating tve table with my fists. Is it hard to make them directly obtainable instead of depending on previous? You checked how costly and stupid is the crafting from dragon slayer weapons to those new ones?! You want to instore disgust and do everything to discourage getting them? Crazy.

Tengu and skritts under spotlights, that's a good thing. But because I know for sure that I will not see inquest in blootide coast mission, that I will not see kraits or hyleks in caledon mission and no flame legion in the fireheart one, I put a 8/20 by advance. 1 point for skritt and tengu. 1 point for the guild all deco. 6 other point are because it is not new content, just instances in core maps. 6. It is what worths the DRM.

I reserve a worse note for chapter 4, in case you will ruin primordius and prevent me to explore depths of Tyria. Such a scenario would be a nail in the coffin, if so I leave, and not a single euro given anymore, not gonna purchase eod. Doi.g an expact doesn't justify butchering a major plot and lores possibilities.

Greatest joke: play as braham. Can I kill him too definitely?

Fail story content. Im so disappointed at what the Icebrood Saga has become. I cant believe players are ok with this. I hope the new game director gets the studio back on track because this is the monkeys running the zoo. DRMs are a joke... In guild if i say lets do raids... everyone is ME ME ME... lets do strike missions... Everyone is OK ill go... Lets do DRMs...crickets. Weapons upgrading and cost...not worth my time. Story predictable. What happen to the saga... you started so strong... who thought is was ok to drop the ball on living world... Expansion level content in living world we were told... this is not expansion level content. Not even an epilogue map. Epilogue... Get on an airship. go to Cantha. Yawn... back to Final Fantasy 14.

Here's hoping these are the last Dragon Response Mission they ever do. I have supported and loved almost every new content drop for the game since day one, and I cannot stand DRMs. They are carbon copied and way too reliant on one shot mechanics to offer any kind of meaningful experience/content.

Worst of all, they are designed for 1-5 players at the expense of content for open world (a single player story mission in this drop compounds this issue). Save that stuff for the coop games. This is an MMO - the best ever made imo - it's time to get back to giving us things our guilds - in groups of all sizes - can do.

DRMs are, hands down, the worst content Anet has ever developed - probably because they needed something fast and easy to do to fill the gap leading up to the expansion. They can, and should do better, even if it is just new dynamic events on existing maps (which they do very well, imo).

The layoffs happened. S5+ was originally planned to be much bigger, with them originally talking about it playing out over a couple of years and having no plans for another expansion. Datamining even suggested new hero challenges for example, meaning new elites. Months after the layoffs and shortly after the prologue released, the guy in charge, who was also the one pushing S5, quit, and then a few months later they announce an expansion. This final episode is what it is because the live team is operating on minimal resources while everyone else is attempting to rush out an expansion in practically half their usual time.

I hope there are enough mastery points when this is all done for me to complete the mastery. The way things are going, I might not be able to complete the last 2, let alone the last one, in the line, as there don't seem to be enough options outside of the "spend a lot of money buying weapons" or "do things in super challenge mode" choices.

I've gotten used to the 8 raid points being the only ones I can't get, and that seemed like an easy 'line in the sand' for me to accept. I'd be discouraged if the new normal is to let casual folks fail because they don't want to participate in non-public style content.
