CodeHavoc.7926
Hey all, it's been almost a year since I last played this game and was wondering if condition builds were still viable Here's the link to my current build. Was wondering if anyone had any possible changes i can make without having to craft another set from scratch. Thanks in advance.
Yasai.3549
Pretty sure aside from the Epidemic being nerfed awhile back, PvE Scourge has remained mostly the same, aside from Support Scourges in particular because of the introduction of Blood Bank. Infusion.7149
What game mode is this for?If it's for PvE you shouldn't bother running trailblazer most of the time (the major exception is probably Boneskinner with PUGs). If it's for WvW we're in a scrapper heavy meta so it isn't of much use to run conditions in largescale.
Antycypator.9874
I'm using something like this:http://gw2skills.net/editor/?PSABs+tjlFwgYgMMmJW8X/PTA-zRRYMRLmMsyogUIuCw7B-eIt's literally an unkillable build with great passive healing (Blood Fiend, Runes of Tormenting). Anchoku.8142
Trailblazer is not good for PvE, even solo casual. It takes too much dps away for toughness You don't need. Also, you cannot do group content if you mess with the aggro control by using toughness. Save the armor for WvW. You definitely need other sets of armor if this is your only one. If cost is an issue, make offers for bits of exotic Carrion or something. Personally, for PvE I use Viper's, Berserker's or a healing set mix without toughness.Overall, Necro/Reaper/Scourge does not have very good condition damage output compared to some other professions but boon corruption makes up the difference in PvP.Scourge's support in raids can be valuable enough for team mates to ignore the dps gap but there are groups who do not need support. Scourge is good for groups at risk of slow completion or a wipe. The specialization is like an insurance policy and a condi-support build is a sliding scale tunable for more dps or more support. DaVid Darksoul.4985
Try condi based necro, gives you more range and better sustain

Blood bank didn't help support scourge in any way?! Cause you would have to drop transfusion, which is one of the best tools support scourge has, while bloodbank is only for selfsustain, but can't be used efficiently without someone healing you.Sorry but it's ultra useless in pve. And only useful on some cheese builds in pvp and wvw

And only useful on some cheese builds in pvp and wvwBlood Bank make the necromancer tanky in sPvP/WvW due to the relatively low incoming damage in these gamemode where small scale fight adept players hate on tanky builds. The issue of this trait is mainly that it increase the TTK in a seemingly passive way on a profession that have a naturally high TTK due to it's high health pool. I'm pretty sure both you and Yasai say the same thing. Point is that while PvE support scourge didn't change while PvP/WvW support scourge now enjoy an increased survivability without being pigeon holed into a specific kind of utilities (Transfusion isn't a trait that's appreciated in WvW and WvW prejudices tend to bleed on sPvP).As for the thread subject, conditionmancer isn't dead, but it's not especially alive. The necromancer's condition dps have always been dependent on "gimmicks" for it to become appreciated by the "meta makers". Unfortunately, those gimmicks are often quickly nerfed. As it is, the condimancer's dps can theoretically be good and competitive (due to condition manipulation/boon conversion), but there isn't any suitable environment for this to happen in PvE. The Boz.2038
Corruption and scourge corruption are easy to fix in PvE, and it bothers me that they haven't done so yet. First step, add a stack of 4s poison to each corruption skill, for each corruption (Corrupt Boon, for example, becomes 3 stacks of 4s poison, unconditional). For scourge corruptions, replace poison with torment. For each condition removed by this skill, double one poison/torment stack's duration (Corrupt Boon vs a target with 1 boon results in 2 stacks of 4s poison, one stack of 8s poison, one boon removed, and one additional condition based on the boon removed, as per normal corruption effects).There. Done. Fixed. No longer only applicable against two or three mobs in PoF. Actually punishes those two or three mobs.
