Charr with no surname

Kinda lore question. I have a new Charr with only one name, no last name. (Ash legion necro, for those wondering). Would that imply that she has no warband? I love the name but it feels weird to not have a second name! Thanks.

You are correct. A charr with no warband is considered a gladium.

Maybe she has one but just doesn't tell people what it is? The name above your character could just be how she introduces herself to others.

It could be that in the Ash Legion, there might be some times when having your Warband be an unknown could be useful. They are the Legion of spies and subterfuge afterall.

A charr's second name does indicate their affiliation with a warband, with half of that name tying the whole warband together and the other half being unique to each member. A charr without a second name usually indicates that they became a gladium, one who has lost their warband. In the course of the intro, you do lose all but one member of your warband, reform your warband, then abandon it to run off with one of the orders. Your single-named charr has just your given name, but perhaps you didn't really feel comfortable with your new warband and actively sought out the gladium life.

You don't need to have a 'surname' in game. If you managed to get one without a surname that's great. You can always say you are part of a warband for RP purposes unless you wish to remain a gladium.
