Instant crash report upon launching client

So, title. I try to launch my GW2.exe and it loads the first patcher pop-up before immediately giving me the crash report. From what I can tell from said crash report, it's failing to load a certain file "...\Services\LoadHandle\LoadHandle.cpp"

Attempting to use the -repair command line results in the same issue, as well as for using either the 32x or 64x clients.

If you post the very first part of the Crash Report, some one may be able to offer assistance.

My game isn't getting past the launcher, I'm not getting any error messages other than a funky oversized looking windows bar bit. After that the client just shrinks and I have to force quit it. Just like with the OP's case, repairing didn't help either.

I just went thru this myself with nearly identical symptoms to Frou minus the oversized bar. (The same bar still shows on mouse hover over GW2 taskbar icon.)

I tried all of the following without success, reinstall, repair, uninstall then install none of it resolved the issue.

Finally i remembered the AppData Dir and for GW2 its located at

C:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2

It contains settings files and other such things.

I renamed that dir to

C:\Users\name\AppData\Roaming\Guild Wars 2.bak

and now the launcher works and the game starts up with default settings.

The launcher recreates the "Guild Wars 2" dir so once its working again you can delete the "Guild Wars 2.bak" dir.

In order to get to the AppData dir you'll need to deselect "view/options/view/Hide protected operating system files" in windows file explorer.
