TwiceDead.1963
Made a Weaver yesterday... But running full Scholars and Zerkers got boring quick, not to mention how squishy it was. I can survive, but I have to work so much harder (which can be fun, don't get me wrong). However I feel like all I do is dodge and damage, so I wanted to make a build that primarily does damage, but doesn't rule out support elements (No healing though, fuck that). BuildLeadership runes gives Boon Duration and so does Arcane, and I added two Marauder rings to help with Precision and Vitality. I'll be taking the Master's Fortitude trait to increase vitality should I need it over Superior Elements. A little more Survivability over Scholars, but a lot more boon-duration as well. Eventually I might bring Elementalist into WvW, but at this stage it's probably suicide to do so, especially with this build.
Feanor.2358
Invigorating Strikes is useless. Neither the vigor nor the minor barrier is worth giving up the huge damage boosts from Elements of Rage.I don't see the point in taking either the Leadership runes or the Arcane line in your build. You don't have any significant sources of buffs to care about their duration.Your utilities are WvW-oriented. In PvE you don't need the defense of Cleansing Fire and Twist of Faith and you can pick better than the offense of Arcane Blast.Fresh Air is not worth it. You'll be shaving off a few seconds in your return to Air/X or Air/Air but you don't need either. You can utilize your 4 seconds in Fire/Air well enough before going to Air/Fire and Air/Air again. The cooldown of Quantum Strike is long enough so you don't need to do it any faster and access to dagger offhand Air skills isn't really important.Basically just go with the standard zerk meta. If you're struggling with survivability just take an elemental or two and pop one before you engage a pack that gives you trouble.
TwiceDead.1963
Yeah I think you're right. I don't need anymore defense or barriers, sword Weavers have dodges for days. I was in a WvW mindset while I designed this. I still like it after running with it though, a shame Sword is just weak in PvE. I slightly disagree with off-hand air-skills not being important though, that additional CC(and Dodge) can help me break one of those bars quicker than if I didn't have access to it, and it's really just a matter of 1.5 seconds at most to swap, use, and carry on with my rotations. Basically just go with the standard zerk meta. If you're struggling with survivability just take an elemental or two and pop one before you engage a pack that gives you trouble.Aagggh... That's so boring though... Fuckit. Maybe I will, apparently Weaver has nothing else going for it but Damage and Dodges. Might as well go back to Thief if that's the case. Unless I go Condi-cancer ofcourse... Using Elementals is like using Pokemon and have them fight for you. It's downright Magical-Constructs cruelty, and is a highly immoral practice, poor constucts...I prefer to just roll back my sleeves and engage in good'ol fisticuffs like a man! Even if I die. Feanor.2358
For WvW it's different as there's a lot more pressure on you. Take my comment as a critique on the PvE applicability of the build.
TwiceDead.1963
I have, and I already put some of your critique into practice. I appreciate it! :+1:
Razor.6392
Leadership runes in pveNo, just no.What's more fun than killing stuff quickly? Try my build fire / arcane / weaver sword dagger with primordial stance, air signet, arcane wave and arcane brilliance. It is very easy to survive, to stack 25 vuln with it and you also do a lot of damage. You can go hybrid or zerk, up to you.

Leadership was the only one I found with a decent boon-duration and that also increased damage. The other option was Durability runes, which doesnt increase DPS at all. Something like this (too lazy to put zerk / zerk+valk where it fits)http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vFAQJAsYnMIC1NgF5CuMA8RgFBAr4N0EPD3v6Z9tOIAUAOAA-jhQOwAE1DAY/BA-eFor the second weaver trait, you can actually choose any trait you want. 1 for extra condi, 2 for more damage, 3 for more survivability (and then you could replace signet for twist or whatever other stance). Zunki.3916
Condi is actually really versatile on Ele, if you dont strictly follow the qT route (wich may be 20% more dps under ideal circumstances, I get that, but surviving matters, not raw stationary dps). Also, fun matters!Fire, Arcane, Weaver or Fire, Earth, WeaverGo either full Viper and/or the 25% Condidura Rune combination. Outside raids trailblazers should work too and give you insane sustain.Sword, Dagger, Scepter Mainhand combined freely with Focus, Dagger Offhand are ALL viable for ALL PvE Content, you can mix and match depending on taste/encounter/group composition. There is so much freedom on Condi Ele right now.You can at any time swap one Traitline out to include condi cleanse water for specific encounters like Matt/Condi heavy fractals. The playstyle depends on what weapon you choose:The idea is combining burn and bleed damage. While the qT build is most optimized for dps, the other playstiles provide some utility like protection buffs and alot more sustainability and you can adjust your range to the encounter. Need ranged cc? Go Scepter Dagger and switch to air when cc is needed. Need some more sustainability? Take Focus Offhand and take Earth 5. Need only meelee range but some more life? Here you go with sword.Dagger is Fire, Air, while scepter is fire earth. Sword should work with every combination between fire/x and earth/x, as the dualskills all have decent condi dmg on them.Power builds are more restrictive imho, as their dps depends on going zerk and stick to it, as their dmg multiplies.
