Decay question

a) If Quaggan has skill rating above 1600, and he let his rating decay enough so his effective rating will be below 1600, will Quaggan be able to duo que?
b) How are rating gains/loses handled while player has decayed rating?

Decayed Effective rating does not affect your actual rating so you can’t Duo Queue, also you will always increase the decayed rating but increase/lose your actual rating based on win or loss. Also decayed rating doesn’t affect who you are matched with it still goes off of your actual rating.

Decay rating is only there to remove you from Leaderboard

Wooo-hooo, that makes things a lot easier for Quaggan to understand!

  • But there is also rating deviation which is a +/- modifier for your rating that increases over time if you are not playing. So you rating is actually something like 1600 +/- 200. I guess that this plays in if you are considered for a match with higher/lower rated players.
