What if I Wardrobe HOPE over Quip ?

Will I still have the good looks of HOPE and the "dial a build" capability of a Legendary pistol ? I have both pistols.Thanks,M. Conrad K

Transmuting a piece of equipment only changes its appearance. The rarity of the item stays the same.

For example: you could use a common (white) quality skin on a legendary weapon and your weapon will still have legendary status, but won't have any special visual effects because of the skin you used. Likewise, if you transmuted a common (white) weapon to use a legendary skin, it would still be a common quality item without any perks a legendary has, but with the special visual effects of the legendary skin chosen.

If you transmute a legendary to use the skin of another legendary, it will use the special visual effects of whatever skin you transmuted it to. This means if you have 2 different types of legendary pistol, you can transmute one to use the same skin as the other to make a matching set, while still retaining the legendary status of the pistol you transmuted it to.

Hope skin on Quip -> transmuted Quip with Hope skin

It would also work the other way around.
