Old Player Returning

Hey, I'm returning to this after 5 years of being absent. However, it was mainly for the sake of a friend. Currently, we are different servers. Is there anyway to bypass this payment wall that doesn't require me to buy this game again?

Servers only matter if you're doing World vs. World with them. If you don't care about WvW then just stay where you're at.

If you do want to transfer but not pay for it...

1. Play the game and earn gold.
2. Turn gold to 1000 gems using the exchange
3. Transfer to their server

You can also transfer for free by deleting all your characters. Stuff in your bank will be fine, so put anything that's not soulbound in there.

If you’re going to transfer for WvW reasons, make sure the server you want to transfer to is not full.

If you want to transfer severs a few ways you can do it.if you aren’t attached to your characters and they really don’t have much progression or anything of value you can just put everything in your bank and delete your Characters and transfer for free. ( I think you can store stuff in your bank double check before you do ) or youCould pay a gem fee to transfer severs and keep all your characters and it depends Which server you want to transfer too. Some severs cost more than others.

And servers only matter for WVW nothing else

Kind of a weird question though, if you'd even logged into the game you'd see you could immediately play together. :)

Unless the OP and his/her friend are on servers in different regions (NA vs. EU).
