Look at all the skills that get changed animations with Astralaria. Frigid Blitz, Life Blast, Dark Path, Ricochet, Splitblade, Winter's Bite, Path of Scars and Throw Axe. All of these are 900-1200 range axe throwing skills. Our Axe 1 chain is a 130 melee-range cleave. It does have a spectral axe animation which would be nice to have updated with the legendary, but put it into the same boat as the other skills that get updated animations is not intuitive.

There is more of a case that Blazing Edge should at least have an updated animation, but even that is a 600 range proto-ranged skill. It too isn't considered a projectile. It's a 600 range skillshot that might seem like it behaves like warrior's Bladetrail, but notice again that warriors greatsword 4 (which is effected by Twilight, Sunrise and Eternity) is a 900 range projectile.

Guardian axe has no projectiles, so it probably wont see an update to its animations with Astralaria any time soon.
