azizul.8469
Dear Dev,Due to the recent event in which certain server organizing a blackout in order to bring down their active wvw participation count to open the server, i'm suggesting that you look into the possibility of using the method of moving average . make it 2 month week-to-week moving average. that way 2 weeks of blackout or sudden rise in population won't auto open or close a server.Regard. Illconceived Was Na.9781
They already do a weighted average. (Which is why the organized blackouts last longer than a week or two.)
azizul.8469
alright, but how long ? if current average sample is not enough make it longer, perhaps 6 month. If Kodash managed to do it within 2 weeks, i guess the sample is low, may be 3 weeks...
FogLeg.9354
It depends how much over the FULL status each server is. For example Kodash could be over the limit by 2-3 players only, while some huge overstacked server has 3 times as many players. They both over the full limit but their populations could be quite different.Don't think it should be very long to update the status. If 2-3 larger guilds decide to transfer, server could easily go from full into totally empty within 2 weeks, and then it would just die for next 5,5 months. Population based on hours spent in WvW can easily change with few popular commanders. People log into WvW, there is tag, they join and run around for hours having fun. If the comm quits, people log in same way but find nothing to do and log out soon.
