kaehlys.1074
I last logged in and played GW on Sunday evening. On Monday I installed the latest Creators Fall update for Windows 10. On Tuesday GW patched successfully and while I can log in I can't play. As soon as the client launches after I press 'Play' I get a DirectX error: Error: “Unable to initialize 3D output. Please verify that you have installed DirectX 9 and an updated video driver. "I updated my video driver and made sure Windows was fully patched. I've rebooted my PC. I've checked DirectX 9 is fully updated. I've turned off every overlay I'm aware of (Discord, Steam, Windows game bar). I turned on GPU scaling. I tried compatibility options. Nothing has worked. Any suggestions please?

kaehlys.1074
I ended up uninstalling Windows Security Update KB4054517 and it solved my issue. Thanks Microsoft!
TheQuickFox.3826
Please make sure you have DirectX 9.0c on your system.https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35Newer Windows versions do not always fully support DirectX 9 out of the box.
