What does power or hybrid Scourge look like in PVE?

I just can't bring myself to use scepter. It's so slow and clunky feeling. Since I'll have to give up Greatsword and Reaper Shroud to become a Scourge I guess that leaves me with dagger/focus for cleave alongside the obvious axe/warhorn for ranged. Is it worth considering a support/power hybrid?

I will play my Scourge full celestial, with scepter/torch and dagger/torch... or staff i will see as far as i tested it, its fun to play and exactly what i wanna do.. enough life force and decent damage/barrier will raid with it too =)

Not META but this is what I am looking to do. I have always loved minions so I will try to see how much I can accomplish with this. F1 and Shroud skill spam for extra damage on what I was already spamming before. Not great, but it did feel very fun on the stress test with garbage gear.

I can see power scourge being something of the unsung hero of meta events known to kill a lot of players. They will generate a lot more life force than condition scourge which can equal tons of barrier for all.

I've decided to go hybrid Scourge. I'm slightly worried that I won't survive without my Shroud blanket but I'm really liking this build on paper. Please let me know what holes you see in it and remember this is for open world PVE.

You could probably even play a full power build and not be wrong in raid. Something like that:

Most of the time you'd melee thing with desert shroud activated on cool down. Considering that you have desert shroud up 2/3 of the time, there would even be a risk for you to overcap crit chance.Rotation: keep the 2 minions summoned, summon shade next to the boss, melee auto while using desert shroud, well of suffering and plagueland on cool down. If needed use locust swarm for extra life force. Simple rotation for damage that shouldn't be to shabby and some extra unneeded support.

That is a lot of crit for sure. I don't hate it but here's the thing, I spent sooo much time crafting my Ascended Viper's armor that I'm basically not willing to give it up so I'm kind of cornered into a hybrid role. Right now the topics I'm torn on are whether or not to use Soul Reaping, Spite or Blood Magic and whether or not to go for boon duration or healing power.
