What the Maps really need to feel like WvW [Suggestion]

Okay so overall the concept is great, but what it doesn't feel like is what it should be. This isn't a discussion about population issues or balance issues, this is about what it should look like. Over the past years of the game everyone has been expecting changes, and I am one of those who was expecting the change to be in the design of maps. The introduction with the desert borderlands was actually a good idea, however the problem with desert borderlands is that it is way too huge, which is what makes it hard to navigate around. However, this doesn't change the fact that desert borderlands is more towards what WvW should have looked like from the beginning. The Edge of the Mists is also what I feel WvW should look like, however the problem with Edge of the Mists is that it lacks a matching scenery to that of the anticipated concept art.

So this brings me to my next point, what is clear here is that the alpine borderlands as well as EBG needs a massive graphic overhaul, when the mists were finally shown in path of fire within the story I was actually very pissed off that the borderlands looked nowhere near as amazing as it did in the path of fire story when you were tasked to talk with Lyssa. Mind you I know the fog is visually limiting however Arenanet should be able to fine tune it so that it doesn't become a problem to the player in the longrun. The atmosphere is what I have the biggest issue with, you would expect the smoke of trebuchets and the warfare would somehow affect the environment at all, since that kind of warfare brings about a change in the environment such as rain or clouds filled with soot but it doesn't! Not only that everything looks so nice and primp that the sun from the mists actually shows its entire glory. There should be skeletons of fallen soldiers on the ground from time to time, and potholes detailing the cannon fire! When a tower should look more damaged the effects should look like the towers actually taking damage and show splotches of ashes where the damage took place. It never rains in WvW, nothing feels like were actually at war with each other, and the alpine borderlands don't really look like the mists at all.
