Buying the game as a gift

This question has probably been asked before but i cant seem to find a concrete solution.

Is there a simpler way to buy the game with my account and get the activation code, for when the person i'm gifting it to, could simply activate it with a code?

You can purchase the game from ArenaNet, or one of their Authorized Retailers, and forward the Serial Key as a gift. The giftee would then create an account using said Serial Key. Just make sure to complete any game purchases outside the game.
