Will you pay gems for WvW cosmetics?

Anet needs profits to continue building the game. We could show them it is profitable building WvW too! I support Anet's stand on this. This is a profit driven and practical world. I love the game and love WvW and would like to see WvW support Anet to drive future developments.

If we show Anet that WvW can be profitable, maybe we can get more good things. Will you pay gems for cosmetics like different siege skins, siege skills, outer keeps and towers looks, inner looks, camps looks etc?

There is another thread on how we should get Christmas skins and skills on our siege. Will you pay gems for these skins?

Imagine a reindeer pulled catapult sled. Or a keep's lord dressed in santa clothes. Or during Halloween a haunted castle look for garrison.

And how much gems is reasonable?

Will convert gold to gems usually.

Question is. Would you buy Obsidian Skins for gems? Still no. D:

I am undecided on whether I'd buy wvw cosmetics, but Anet could already devote resources to wvw if they wanted to. I doubt an influx of cash from wvw customers would change their stance/attitude towards wvw or lead to more wvw development.

slow change is ok. too much change despite what ppl call for usually ends killing the game. ex. desert replacing alpine.

i didnt mind it. but my guys left. with no one to play back then, i left for a different game - swtor and wow.

because they returned alpine, i play again since some players came back and we have new blood.

If, for example, they made skins that could be purchased for guild claims on camps, towers & keeps I would spend real money to purchase those skins. A cosmetic uplift and some daily changing aesthetic diversity is something that I feel would help keep the game feeling that much fresher.

Though not at the expense of the gameplay. If introducing skins to the maps themselves introduces game affecting bugs and/or causes noticeable lag I wouldn't be in favor of such a change. Moreover, these sorts of changes shouldn't happen in place of updating the gameplay and mechanics itself.

I think I've paid enough in world transfers because of bad game mode designs and decisions, but that's just me.

Yes but I already spend a small fortune on gems for gold, for stuff, for wvw. I wvw full time. I don't have time to go farm for materials!!! Foods, feast foods, banners, guild siege, superior siege, and blueprints to make guild siege. then there is materials for making more ascended stuff for my own gear/herd of toons. Where do people get the idea that wvw'ers don't already spend money? My guild leader drops more than me and I know I spend around $50-$100 every month. (FYI we are a super tiny guild but very active)

What are you spending gold on? That's a lot of gold to be throwing at siege and armor. I'm all for supporting Anet, but perhaps getting some financial support from your server might be in order?

There are probably people paying anet $25+ every 2 months (also known as a subscription fee) to play WvW on different servers

I really like that fiery banner backpack, but no. I won't pay gems for it. The people who got it earned it. Turning it into a gem purchase just seems . . . disrespectful to those players. But that's just my opinion. :)

buying gems to buy junk for wvw now that is just as foolish as buying gems for the rest of the game. :p but hey some one wants to be not bright reminds me of the old saying you can not fix stupid :p

ArenaNet should announce that these WvW related gem store items will directly go to WvW development. That would encourage me to purchase them.

Materials that is what I spend gold on to make banners, feast food, food (for my toons) seige, and ascended crafting (for me). No not everyone does this, but some of us do especially on smaller servers. I do a whopping amount of defending. I'd be happy if ppl would just help refresh the siege sometimes :/

I still remember back when I was on TC there was a Super dedicated scout Pitsipopaki who was online for hours upon hours almost daily, just scouting the keeps and garrison on home BL, building siege, refreshing siege, flipping camps, escorting yaks.

He was also very knowledgeable in building counter siege and usually only called in help from Ebg if the enemy outnumbered him vastly. I wrote a thread on Reddit 1 year ago to honor scouts.

I remember that person and yes they were a very dedicated defender :) If I'm not mistaken they played a little asura. WvW has some of the most dedicated players I've ever seen in any game. We do spend gold and would probably spend more if it was something that appealed to us :)

Just one question. How shall this work? Does the garrison only look for me different when i buy a "skin"? Or do i actually buy it for the whole server? Also it will cause alot of confusion i bet when each player has different looking structures. I can allready hear a cmdr calling to gather at the spooky tower with the bats and all go nuts and run all over the place because not all may have the same skin. Also Anet does provide profit from WvW as WvW players aswell buy armor/weapon skins for gems. Or a salvage bot to get rid of all the items looted in battles. Your poll is pretty pointless. If the game was actually good, and we had decent themes and skins on the TP for the guild content or siege vehicles skins(not transmogriffers) stuff on wvw.. yes i would.

She is a wonderful scout! She is on BG, but has not played in a few weeks.

I would need first to have a balanced game so i would spend more than the minimum necessary to get the weekly tickets.
