Did I think 6 total.1 I tried to solo for the 1st time.1 boss I did with a training group and failed.1 that I was pretty much escorted through with some other newbs to get the mastery line unlocked.1 training group that failed.1 training groups that completed 2 bosses and lost at the 3rd.1 training group that tried 2 bosses and failed both.

No, its doesn't.

But to further state, trying to quantify how many raid and how many don't. ANet has access to numbers we don't but hasn't shared, so trying to see if opinions are on mark or off with the limited sampling the forum can provide. Any votes are most welcome. Thanks for your time!

not yet, but interested to start in the near future. im on the way to have proper gear on my ranger soon to deliver several builds to be more flexible with playstyles such as healer, condi dps, etc. i will go into raids to play new content, if i like it i might go for the legendary items, if i dont like it i will drop it and go back to wvw or pvp

I haven't yet, but I want to.

The only things stopping me are having too much else to do and needing to have enough time on a regular basis. Playing for 2 hours I can do, 2 hours a week I can do. But 2 hours uninterrupted at the same time every week? That doesn't happen in my life.

But once things go back to "normal" in the new year I want to start.

I'm not interested, because anything that goes in the "training courses" area automatically disqualifies as "game" at the same time. And, to me, GW2 is a game. Not that I blame the training thing, I'm sure lots of people enjoy it, and I understand why, but I'm just not interested in commiting the necessary time.

It's sad, because raids seem to have an interesting lore value, and it's the only way to get legendary "PvE" armor.

tried there was only players looking for builds to get carried and telling those were the only ways to beat the mobs there..

Its a dumb way to pretend pve requires skill... when mehcanics can be easilly ovewhelmed with broken balance gimmicks so easilly and bugs ;) this is what groups want to feel powerfeull.

I dont do lame content, i wish Anet could implement some sorta A.I in mobs and in the content itself, so the nor the path nor tricks could be done in redundancy, players would never know what to expect in raids or any kind of content... this yes, would be inovative.

Organising a 10 man pug group is difficult, and though I hate to say it, I am not a good enough as a player to carry others through this content - so I need quality players... or, failing that, quality builds. I don't like being the elitest git, but while running "anyone welcome" on the LFG, I typically found players who joined had conformed to the WoW meta rather than what the group needed (Settlers Ele "support" and Soldiers Guardian "tanks" being a good example). Such comps may work in the hands of organised and experienced groups, but for first timers, it just made the whole ordeal somewhat frustrating.

Also, Euro raid (and training) guilds usually operate about the same time, which is inopertune for an OCE player. I've also found it hard to commit to a specific time, because life.

I just don't think me and raids will ever go together.

Boring. Mindless. Rigid mechanics. Huge time-sink. Arrogant raid leaders and elitists...Pick a MMORPG, any MMORPG, and the problems with raiding are all the same. You have to be a masochist or sadist to raid. The sadists are inevitably the leaders and elitists.Unfortunately, the best gear always comes from raiding, but in a game like GW2, you don't need that gear for anything other than more raiding. So, why bother?

Anet has better numbers. The numbers of this poll show the number of people who visit the forum who raid. I suspect this poll is skewed, since I"m fairly sure most of the game's population doesn't frequently the forums. The more vested people are in the game over all, the more likely they are to be here, and the more likely they are to raid. I'd be surprised if 85% of the game's active population has ever set foot in a raid.

Tried raiding with my guild.... that didn't work out.

Now that legendary armor is obtainable in other ways I doubt I have a reason to go back and try again. I just feel the whole scene is just not what I expected from raids, mostly due to the fact that this game encourages you to switch classes mid raid from what I've seen, but my knowledge is pretty limited here. Maybe I'm wrong but most raids from other games has you staying as your class of choice.

And just the attitude purely from the LFG is discouraging. "Need 150 Li" comes to mind

Perspective:Their(Raids) implementation is a bit superfluous, i.e. ANet is using them to compete with other game developers. Furthermore, entry to these areas and/or how they're displayed is a poor attempt at in-game marketing practices: Large, mystic, ominous looking portals daring the player to step through -- only to discover that they must form a group with a number of other players, (e.g. players of the 'right' class, build and knowledge). These restrictions create a 'mythos' within the G.W.2. gaming community and all inquires regarding such filter to forums and information sites that can be viewed by anyone.

It's an opinion, but I'd say that Raiding content in G.W.2. is incomplete. I'll not invest in that at this time, but simply observe till new developments/changes have been made or at the very least till some form of stylized Raid 'preparation' is created; certainly something different or more engaging than, "You must be in a Squad of 10 players to play this Raid."
