Todd.8162
When will the SMS nag message at login be killed with a "Remind me NEVER" option?I'm sick of clicking the "Remind me later" button. I don't want another nag message later. I want the damn thing out of my face, forever.
Healix.5819
Never. It's intended to annoy you because the average user doesn't know what they're doing so using SMS is the safer and more casual (vs authenticator) option for them. Hacked accounts cost ArenaNet, which is why they're pushing it. 2FA isn't going to help those who get their email hacked however. If you want to disable the SMS reminder, you can either bypass the login (-nopatchui -email -password) or run GW2 in read-only mode using -sharearchive when playing and -image when updating. Just a flesh wound.3589
Why not get an authenticator? You don't have to give out a phone number, it provides extra security and it stops the notifications. .Be careful what you ask for. ANet might give it to you. Alanar.9854
I had 2FA and the text never arrived. I was told by support that it was having difficulties a short while ago so they disabled it on my account. I refuse to go back to it out of sheer annoyance with it in the past. Not junk email, just completely stopped it from arriving. I swapped to another provider not long after that.
