What are you planning on doing when PoF is released?

Many of us know people will come back to the game to see if PoF brings more excitement to the game mode.

I wonder if WvW will START more active, or if it will take a few weeks while people are doing the PvE content.

I'm going to play PVE in order to discover the Expac, rewards, AP, etc. and unlocking Elite Spec.

But I will still doing my diamond chest in WvW for tickets and fun, I hope getting some new elite spec fast in order to try them on the battlefield :)

I've got hero points ready to unlock an elite spec I want to try out, I'll probably be doing some PvE but will be focused on build-crafting.

Doing the PvE content to explore etc but will also jump into WvW but might skip reset due to the likely huge number of game updates during it.

Release overlaps with a regatta, so, my answer is Sailing!

Look forward to see what the new maps have. Then, right back to wvw.

It took them five years+ but finally my Warrior got his runspeed signet.

First I will change my legendaries and hopefully my saved wvw ascended gear to Grief. Then I will go to wvw and look at the new sigil/runes and other content.

Definitely going to play PvE and stuff but I'll still be WvWing as well. No option for both but I chose PvE stuff cause that will definitely take me away from WvWing hardcore for a while.

Current HP won't unlock the new elite specs. There will be a new currency in the skirmish chests with the release of POF.

Same thing I do every Friday night: help out new players in Queensdale and hang around. The launch will have its share of issues, so I'd rather wait until it gets ironed out.

Going directly to WvW but w/o PoFMight be my last week playing this game...

They mean the hero challenges from pve. If you have every one done, you are currently sitting on 364 unspent skill points. When HoT launched, the elite spec was 400 skill points to fully unlock. It was later reduced to 250 due to forum rioting (imo). It isn't known what will be required, but thinking 250 (roughly) isn't unreasonable. So, those people with extra skill points can fully unlock the new elites as soon as they log in.

Since PoF and HoT are separate installations formed on a core game, it makes sense to keep these systems the same.

Are you sure on this? It seems to be a debated topic, with no one really knowing the answer.

I feel put off by stating this but... I'm probably going to have to settle for doing the PvE content ASAP in order to unlock elite specs for WvW. From what I remember on HoT launch - WvW was somewhat distant (only the hardcore or players who didn't buy the x-pac were present) because everyone wanted to unlock stuff first due to the hype etc.

I'm gonna die every single time I set foot outside of the spawn area.

So, you know, nothing new.

Short of new skirmish chests with POF currencies in them and a thief now standing beside the ranger that pops you from a cliff, nothing will change in wvw except how quickly that thief will be able to pop you from that cliff.

I give it a day and we're back to the usual players doing the usual things they do.

do pve then wvw as normal

Get the story and possible spoilers out of the way, make gold from good drops, then look at WvW after doing some duels in the guild arena for a week or two. Oh wait I'm linked with Far Stackedpeaks, I won't be doing WvW for a month till relink

I figured most would do the content either to unlock skills or see if it's interesting.

Familiarize myself with the new maps, so when i have to farm additional HP's for my alts i don't have to go in blind. but also play some WvW on my main.

i want that raptor =) or those weird mounts

I'll still be doing WvW on and off but for the most part my guild has voted to take a few weeks to unlock specs. Like the posts said above, I've got 363 skills points (I must be missing one! lol) saved up. I doubt we'll be able to unlock it right away (I'm going for Scourge). Likely it will be behind a story or something to start out. Really we don't know. Plus I like to screw around on the PVE side once in awhile and get a taste of the new content.
