Legendary trinket requires WvW/PvP?

The wiki says you need a Gift of the Mists to create Aurora.

I play WvW at a barely functional level. Will it even be possible to create a Gift of the Mists? What kind of workload is required?

I looked it up. It looks like you need Gift of Battle just as you would for a legendary weapon. All this requires is completing a WvW reward track. No particular ability is required for this. You can literally just run with the zerg and die as much as you like! To speed things up, use boosters that increase WvW reward track gain. Even so, expect to do this over time (or in an hours long marathon, if you're into that sort of thing). Even with boosters I estimate 6-8 hours of WvW required.

I just got done with making Aurora. I strongly suggest spacing out the farming over several days. You’ll need the Gift of Battle from WvW in order to make the Gift of Mists.

Under 5.5h if you can keep up the booster the whole time. Even less if you have black lion boosters. Alternatively just do the WvW dailies and the use potions which would take longer but much less WvW involved.

OK, I was concerned about the gift of glory and gift of war. I already have a few gifts of battle. I didn't realize that memory of battle (for gift of war) is in the bank; I do have plenty of those, I think. But, how about shards of glory? Those appear to only be available in PvP. Am I correct?

OK, I looked around, and it seems you can buy shards of glory on the TP. So, those won't be a problem, either.
