Switching Specializations

Good evening, I would very much like to see a function like "Switching specializations" I think it would be an extremely convenient feature and very much in demand!

Can you not simply do this in the Hero panel already?

What exactly would this feature do?

If you mean literally just changing which Specialisations you've chosen you can already do that any time you're out of combat in just a few clicks. If you mean a system to automatically switch to a saved set of specialisations, skills, armour and weapons that's a lot more complicated. It's something players having been asking for since before the game was released and Anet have said they're unable to give us.

No way to tell if that means it's about to ship or if they still haven't figured out their game plan for delivering some combination of build templates (that save skills & traits) or build load outs (that also swap gear), or even just being able to save a snapshot of your build/gear so you can replicate it without having to memorize the details.

FYI for the OPThere is a 3rd party app call ArcDPS, a DPS meter that includes a way to swap builds (and gear). While its developer has spoken with ANet about the app and its features, all the usual caveats apply: stuff can go wrong (e.g. reports about lost gear) and ANet won't be able to assist. (Or in other words, disable the app to confirm the issue is GW2 before contacting support.)
