Vampiric Presence

"Vampiric Presence: The power contribution from the necromancer to the damage portion of this trait has been increased by about 1,200%. The healing-power contribution from the necromancer has been increased by about 560%. The functionality of this trait has been modified and currently increases its effectiveness by 100% when in shroud. This effect now has a 0.5-second cooldown."

So is this a buff to power builds or what?

so while you're fully buffed i expect this buff to produce around 2k bonus dps for a subsquad. Given that power reaper benchmark is at around 27.5-28k dps, that gain is still useless and would be better to take another class. please remove the internal cooldown.

Edit: i forgot alacrity is nerfed so the benchmark will be lower.

They found the right trait to buff PvE damage without breaking PvP burst...

but they failed at the implementation of numbers that make sense (damage <>heal ratio, ICD)...

again...

If there wasn't the new corruptions table with alacrity > chill and resistance > immob (both are great and what I was hoping for) I think I would take a break from the game now.

hmmmmmmm.... This looks interesting I think it depends on how it stacks with other things. Perhaps it was there attempt to also give the necromancer some selfish sustain without making it too busted when given out to others via aura effect.

Curiously wondering how this will work with a signet power build.I dont play scourge to start with so most of the other changes were not to my concern although now necro has an easy way to gain alacrity when afflicted with chill. I would have like to see resistance convert into something stronger like taunt though. I dont recall what immobilize was converting into before hand.

realistic buffs full zerk meta food and 18x +5+9 gives: 178 damage, 353 in shroud per tick. benchmark is around 27k dps. the same as power ps warrior. dps power warrior has 32k dps. the predicted dps gain for entire subsquad is around 2k as i wrote above. which means even taking power ps or power dps war for EA is a lot better than taking power reaper literally anywhere.

umm no.... you have Signet of undeath, as well as Vampuric signet. It will need testing butt Potential healing in shroud now could actually be rather massive. Assuming you are not running scourge. Not everyone here is a scourge fanboy

Where are you getting power dps warrior pull 32k from? Are you talking about the one using dagger that lands the dagger skill and rampage on cd? Because I don't remember it being that high?

Where are you getting power dps warrior pull 32k from? Are you talking about the one using dagger that lands the dagger skill and rampage on cd? Because I don't remember it being that high?

my friend who is a warrior main tested it. he was using gs+A/A

my friend who is a warrior main tested it. he was using gs+A/A

and my warrior friend pulls around 23k, granted he can probably get up to 25kish if he tries but the gap is really huge. Is this before or after patch and is he testing on a medium golem? Because there was a thread in warrior forum of a guy thinking he pulls 32k dps when in reality he did it on a low hp golem/bugged armor golem and that was his burst.

Oh poor necros. Didn't even get that meme axe buff this time. Out of all the things they could have buffed, they chose to buff vampiric presence... Buff to VP is a joke from an end game pve perspective. #1) who even runs power specs in end game pve. #2) condi specs (which are the only 'tolerable' specs that won't get you insta kicked from group) will never run blood magic.

I genuinely feel bad for those who identify as necro mains or really like the class. I played my necro in a raid for the first time in over a year last week, and I had so much fun. And it is pretty sad that given Arena Net's inability to balance necro, it seems the class is doomed to remain as a trash tier class that isn't even welcome in escort with exp groups (true story). I would love to be able to play my necro more in raids with my statics, but as is, that will never happen. Necro will remain as a class that you only bring to soulless horror for ad control. Groups stopped using necros even in MO because it is better to bring 2 weavers and just have them drop lava fonts on scouts.

PVP wise it's worse than what it used to be (cut in burst)... ICD should get removed.NB°°° ICD is 1 second and not 1/2 sec like tool tip says. (Auto on golems it procs every 2/3 auto when cd of staff 1 is 3/4 sec and should proc it every time.)

Axe 2 used to proc 8 times the aura, same goes for RS 2 making up for some burst damage (8x 35 = 280) / healing (8x 34 = 272) but now it's more low sustained damage (On a class without sustain ....).

Now Using axe 2 only heals you for 37 and does 106 damage and double the amount for RS 2 (still less than what it used to be). The only improvment is for slow hitting skills/autos than last more than 1 sec (since ICD is not 1/2 but 1 sec.)

Honestly removing the ICD would increase burst on axe by 848 damage wich is acceptable if you take in considaration it's on a long 1,3/4 chanel.And does 1696 with RS 2 wich is to much (Instead of having it do 100% of the initial damage you could down it to 50% and get around 1200 damage wich is way better)

Would be a good option to Soul Reaping by giving up LF regen , losing shorter burst frames and the 100% crit . But on the other hand you d get better team support, direct sustain and more distributed burst onto multiple hitting skils.

For pve i think it make no sence since power necro is not viable anyway and this buff wont change much.

its from like hour ago and it was realistic buffs and 4 mil golem. maybe your friend is very bad?

That was from before the patch and he wasn't trying very hard because playing power warrior makes him sad as a warrior main.

If the new warrior actually hits 32k dps I'd be pretty impressed, have him release a video.
