You are literally allowing this to happen. They put this low droprate crap in boxes because goobers like you keep buying the keys.

I’m ashamed to say that I did this. Saw the YouTube video of the dude pop 25 Keys and get 5 or 6 skins. So what does my stupid self do? Pop 25 Keys.

0 skins. Not one. Nothing of worth at all, really. Major letdown :(

Crying about RNG? Honestly, you shouldn't be playing MMO's at all if this bothers you that much. Every single reward you get in an MMO is RNG, right from killing mobs up.

Its the loot box gambling that anet is using as bait to prey upon way to many people.

I don’t support gambling so I don’t purchase keys for the chests. I also don’t care for the skin. There are plenty of cool skins you can earn by just playing the game.

RNG, is RNG.

I bought a 5 pack of keys, and got the longbow/flaming quiver on the the 5th try.

I like the bow, but not enough to trust RNG. I'm loving the German shepherd harvester though! :)

Loot drop RNG is one thing. Paying to get RNG loot is entirely different. Don't get me wrong, I get why it's done. But I refuse to participate in lottery. Buying random items from a limited, exhaustable pool? Fine by me. Buying a chance to drop something? Nope.

I just completed a map with one of my characters and got a key. When I used it I got the Fire-Breathing Longbow and Quiver. I probably won't use them because I'm not really into the gaudy skins. If it wasn't account bound I'd sell them.

Took 45 keys to unlock the fire breathing longbow . Can't wait to use it on my Dragonhunters or my Ranger :)

Got it in 8 keys... but I don't really want it. Looks a bit stupid if you ask me. Just feels bad I can't sell it, what a waste.

Got it in 1 key that I got from doing story run. I was so happy since I wanted the quiver that comes with it.

Don't be surprised if you have to spend over $50 on blk to get this thing.

I had 50 keys and got it on my 42nd I think

But then I get yelled at for being a goober when I'm okay with buying the mount skins that aren't RNG because they're supposedly too expensive.

Not really, the US government and Germany talked about keeping loot boxes away from kids, and France and a few other countries are only opposed to pay to win loot boxes, even most of the discussion in the US had been about pay to win with some stating explicitly that cosmetic boxes are acceptable. This causes 2 issues, most online gamers are not children, the average age is above even young adult, and the second being the boxes don't fit the pay to win problem.

Not a "goober" I just wanted the skin. But I don't pay more for keys than I would for the skin outright. Got a few things I've been eyeballing at least to more or less make up for the cash, but after $20 my thoughts for any skin instantly go from "I want" to "not worth it." Arena Net isn't getting another dollar from me for that skin until it is a direct buy in the gem store.

It's not about pay to win, it's about whether the countries involved consider them as gambling. Belgium is actively seeking legislation to ban them and as they are part of the European union, any such legislation they introduced could be adopted throughout much of Europe.

With regards to 'children' - if any such ban were to be introduced, game makers who offered such boxes in game would need to introduce stringent measures to ensure that no players under the legal gambling age in any particular territory had access to the game.

60 keys and nothing. Did get the griffin glider and some top notch skins. Feels better but I really wanted the damn bow. I will try again on friday. #preyed upon

Whilst i support you taking a stand, I doubt you willget your wish. Look how many keys were bought by players in this thread alone. Now multiply tha across a considerably larger population and their strategy is working. When either no one buys keys or their hand is forced by legislatory means, then things will change and we can do away with rng in this way.

Well some poor soul used 220 black lion keys and didn't get the longbow :(
