with your Scourge for the HPs or with another character?

Of course the character you trade the heroics with gets the HPs unlocked, no other.Incorrect. I have maxed out my useless/PvE character elite specs using my actually played/WvW characters before. You run WvW, collect Testimonies of Heroics, trade them in for Notarized Scrolls of Maguuma or Desert or Tyria. 10 Testimonies per HoT or PoF Hero Point, and 1 testimony per Tyria Proper Hero Point. The character you get the scrolls on would get the HP, unless they have changed this.

Bottom line is, I do not want to run Maguuma again. Eugh.

Not just an example. GWEN is the staple class set for WvW: Guardian, Warrior, Elementalist, Necromancer. The rest are shunned, shooed and booed off the map unless roaming. Ranger is literally an insult to a Zerg and will get called out or kicked by the comm on sight, unless it is a joke squad and people are there to derp.Guild Wars 2 has finally given WvWers the chance to earn their Elite specs by playing the game the way they want.I want it to work like it used to. I want my 14 Notarized Scroll of Maguuma Heroics to work. I want them back if naught else.

Each 10 unlock 1 Maguuma Hero Point.Regardless, you can contact the CS Team via the 'Support' link above/below for an individualized response. No one on the forum can 'give them back'.I was addressing the makers, not the users of the game on the forums. This system error is too big to discuss in private, and has been the icing on the cake of the frequent freezes and crashes in all game modes.I have made more effort earning the HP in a much harder way, but in a way I enjoy: WvW. It's way harder surviving a Zerg than surviving the jungle. Thanks for the suggestion of change of address.Good luck. Many thanks.

There's some problems with the vendor.

There are only so many hero points in either HoT or PoF. If you've unlocked them all from one area already it doesn't prevent you from buying or consuming more scrolls from that area - you simply receive no reward for doing so and the game essentially just eats your scrolls. There are no checks to stop you from purchasing something unusable, no check to stop you from using it and wasting your currency, no warning messages on either the screen or in the log. It's pretty crappy.

Definitely should be discussed on the WvW forums & brought to the devs attention, however it's also something OP should file a support ticket for if they actually want to be reimbursed.

I would hazard perhaps this is what happened with OP: they purchased scrolls from the same area to unlock both Scourge and Reaper and after unlocking all of the hero points in that area it just kept eating their scrolls without reward or warning.

Regardless of what the OP did or didn't do, the only way to "address the makers" is by creating a support ticket. Even if there's an official response to this thread, no one at ANet is empowered to make changes to an account without an official request from the player.

So, @Asumir.1978: please create that ticket.

Ideally, include in the ticket:

  • The name of the character who bought the Notarized Scrolls of Maguuma Heroics
  • The approximate date/time

The game doesn't care how the Testimonies were acquired, only who paid for the Notarized Scolls.

Actually, say if you already have all the HPs in HoT, and you bought the Notarised Scroll of Maguuma Heroics (random HP in HoT) for Proofs or Testimonies, when you consume it it returns proofs to your wallet. They don’t vanish, you’re reimbursed. This goes for Desert heroics > testimonies too.

To unlock HPs on a different character, you have to buy the Heroics and consume them on the character you intend them to be on (because they’re soulbound). I thought this was obvious?

Sounds like the OP thought, you were getting actual items. As much as I know, the HPs are instantly done when you buy the scrolls. I can't remember getting anything into my inventory

It is classed as a consumable. It is indeed an item you get in your inventory. It is Soulbound.Double-click to consume.Double-click to complete one random Hero Challenge from the Maguuma region.

If the op bought these on a character that already had 100%of HPs in HoT, he’s already been reimbursed if he consumed them.If you buy the Maguuma heroics (with proofs or testimonies) and consume with a character that has 100% of HoT HPs, you get Proofs back, so you can buy from the HoT recipe tab (they require Proofs). If you buy Desert heroics with testimonies, you get testimonies back. Proofs are now only obtainable from buying them 1:1 for testimonies, or consuming Maguuma Heroics on a character with 100% HoT HPs.

This behaviour is also easily testable.

Let’s not also forget that once you’ve got the HPs on said character you have to spend them in the Hero Panel on the Specialisation line you wish to learn. They (hero points) aren’t account bound.

This. I checked on the character and he already has full Maguuma HP's. I had unlocked Reaper the hard way.So, wow. 100 HP down the drain without check. THANK you, Anet. And filing a ticket, in exactly this vein.

So, lesson of the day is:DOUBLE CHECK YOUR MAP COMPLETION BEFORE PURCHASING SCROLLS ON WVW until Anet decides to put a stopper to your unnecessary purchase.

Earning WvW HP is waaaay harder and waaay more fun to get than Maguuma HPs. Hands down.It cost me no less than four months' running scheduled zergs, hence the salt. Waste of effort.Need to roam more to gain more HP and get more intense PvP fights. The Mists.. once you're in, there's no out.

The time I spent getting them, the fights I earned them with are vanished. Unless translated into some other game currency, I do not know.

One possibility (perhaps OP can confirm if this is what happened) - if you use testimonies to buy HoT scrolls, but you’re maxed out on HoT hero points, I believe you get reimbursed with proofs when you consume them, not testimonies. Which means you no longer have the right currency to buy PoF scrolls.

I tested and confirmed this behaviour in my postings. Testimonies used to buy HoT HPs, get converted to Proofs of Heroics if the character you use them on has already done all of the HoT HPs.Testimonies which buy PoF HPs, convert back to Testimonies if the character you use them on has already done all PoF HPs.

This happened because people stockpiled Proofs in preparation for PoF launch, Anet didn’t want PoF exclusive vendor stuff being bought instantly. Hence the new Testimonies, introduced on PoF launch day.

Lesson from this situation:Player: Look Before You LeapCoder: Put a doorstop or at least cautionary message before a full HoT holder spends their Hero Points for naught on Maguuma scrolls.Question:Can we collect hero points for the next expac's new elite spec? What are you brewing, next?
