[Suggestion] QoL Improvements for Raids

Recommended Posts

  • Change the enemy attack circles (Seekers, Teleports, etc) to the darker circles that Necros were given for PvP. This will help players with poorer eyesight.
  • Allow us to lessen ally effects so we can see better
  • Darken and/or increase the size of the boss arrow to make it easier to see.

Feel free to add things to that list. Please only make suggestions and don't insist someone else has a bad idea.

I recently fix my sound option esp for dhuum shackle phase. Dhuum's voice is sooo deep and low that it almost blend with background and effect noises making it hard to notice.Dhuum says "Join one another in sacrifice". You basically will need to react immediately. By the time you hear the reaper says : " Your souls are linked! Separate!" It will be too late already if you haven't moved. when Dhuum says Join one another in sacrifice, you can also see lightning chain on you plus msg on the screen/chat that says "Your soul has been shackled to another!"

Fixing the sound option can make a huge difference in all raid bosses.. basically id recommend for music and effect volume minimise as lowest possible; environment volume to be not too overcrowded (sort of midway) .. and have UI and dialog volume max out. You will hear all the battle phase warning and so on top of if not earlier than visual effect. There are many ways to pick up diff mechanic anyway. But ya.. if there's way for improvement of course it will be good. :)

Agree! Tone down the ally effects. Some skills are so flashy till its blinding. I used to have this problem with illusions/clones crowding VG. (2 chronos, both with giant wings backpack :astonished:)

I actually rely a lot on sound for some critical mechanics.. such as throwing bomb at sab .. getting poison ..being fixtated .. and etc. Many of the mechanics are timed.. it well timed with certain skill cool down. after you done many training you will have that six sense when certain mechanic will occur .. :)Happy raiding guys/gals

Actually, there's a lot of better bosses to train people. VG just happens to be B1W1, so people start there. It doesn't make it the easiest to learn in any shape or form. Gorseval is million times easier to teach.

Well I think there is more to it. VG is the only boss that has such a deep ingame tutorial attached to it.

Sure, but that honestly doesn't help much... The 3 elites at the beginning are trivial, unlike the boss.

I totally agree that VG isn't the best Boss for people to learn raids NOW. But honestly there is merit to saying it is a good boss to learn on. VG has an extremely carefully thought out introduction to its boss mechanics, and it's clear it's design was very intentional.

The only thing it doesn't teach you is that the floors turn to lava and the timing on cc.

Was Wing one probably more thought out than other subsequent wings? Definetly.Does VG have a nice ease-in to it's mechanics? Agreed. But yeah, atm there's better bosses for new players to start on, not to mention "free" Li in Escort.

I mean when someone says "can't do raids", i'll correct them to "you can't do all raids, or even a complete wing, nor the legendary armor, but anyone can do A Raid Encounter". Because, lets face it, escort is just easy.

Being the first boss for first raid also makes it the encounter most players familiarized with thus easiest. Briefed a friend who started recently on VG. (Melee : Stay behind the boss at all times and avoid the blue aoe on the ground, get to the blue marker/pillar when the boss splits.) As simple as ABC once you breakdown the mechanics. (Tank/Melee/Range)
