horvgab.4879
Hey guys, the PoF patch notes is out and it is devastating....I was thinking about buying PoF, but now I don't need more.5 fucking lines. 3 of it fixed tooltip. Tooltip. I'm a developer. How dare you write it in a patch notes? It's not a fix, it's a minimal requirement.0 asked and known issue fixed. I'm out, good luck with the rest of the expansion. Wulf.5431
They already did a core balance update, the only thing they did that I could see as a bit of a pissoff is saying there were more changes coming. But I don't think this is anything to go ballistic over
Substance E.4852
Them nerfing buffed maul and then giving us literally nothing to compensate for power SB being a joke is kind of worth getting upset over.If all we got was what was listed here and the 5 tooltip changes on the main page then this isn't good.GG anyone who wanted to use double daggers in a useful way ever. horvgab.4879
And we're thinking they have no way to give us more power in pve.Check the rev's notes:Precision Strike: Increased damage done by this skill by 10% in PvE game modes.Unrelenting Assault: Increased damage done by this skill by 10% in PvE game modes.Rev was weak in pve. They give it more power. Core power ranger is weak as fuck in pve --> Noone gives a single fuck about it. GG anet.
horvgab.4879
And there is only one reason why I am upset. GW2 has the best gameplay expirience I've ever played in an MMO (and belive me tried a lot). But sadly the worst balance as well.
calb.3128
An alternative perspective would be that a significant amount of effort has gone in to preparing the new elite specialisations for launch, so any changes to 'core' skills or traits are for polish/correction and that wider balance will be assessed in the coming weeks once the impact of the new specialisations is assessed. Now the beta testing is after release test, which is a real shame. Already zero beta testing is a real shame as well. This is the cheapest solution. You're paying for a product, and you're beta testing it for free. And what happens if they don't fix the issues? You already paid for it. They wont give you're money back. I don't want to be too negative but I bet It won't come any balance patch for weeks.
PookieDaWombat.6209
There were very serious bugs and issues with the spec that were sussed out during the beta test weekend that are not even addressed. This is problematic to say the least. This game is very niche, it has no sub and it has a declining playerbase.Over time, it will get worse because the budget is tied to the sale of Expansions. Anet beta tests in a bubble but rarely make sweeping changes until they can see how the playerbase uses it unless the skill was overtuned to begin with. power ranger will always be a mid to lower tier build, great for open world pve, but not much else. When it comes to raids almost every profession gets pigeonholed into a particular role because it does the best dps, ours happens to be condi ranger and maybe condi soulbeast after ppl have had a chance to play it. looking at one set of notes and being so completely let down is kind of defeatist isn't it? And what if I say, every problem of the game can be fix by better design and better balance?pigenhole problem ->bad raid design, bad class design, bad elite spec designplayerbases uses the best out of given options -> better starting design can give a better curve of evolving the class and the buildspower ranger mid - low tier -> and why? any reason? what if I enjoy it? can't be balanced?Trust me I am a quite experienced developer, a good system can lead the way. A good system results good world around it. It's never vica versa.Edit: ppl like sheeps, they just follow the way you're giving them and trying to do the best with what they have. We laid it out very clearly for them here and they had all the tools at their disposal as developers to confirm what we told them.
cafard.8953
As far as I'm concerned, it's good patch notes when we don't get random nerfs. I was expecting far worse so I'll take that.

I am so sorry anet programmers and developers and the whole support team, but I'm constantly loosing my respect on you. If I would work with you I would feel terrible about the responses. Amateur team. I'm very happy when I see you funning on streams and playing with little plush animals, but in product making and in communication you have to improve. We are your customers, we give you money, I think we deserve a little more respect.

Especially when releasing it after the PvP season but before the balance patch would have still been on schedule for feature patches but given 4-6 weeks for new specs to be included in the balance patch. It's very /facepalm /facedesk /flipdesk
