On the other hand, mounts would make responding to attacks across the map faster. Which would make sieging t3 objectives that much harder.

If they were balanced well, they would be fine.

But do I trust ANet for balancing WvW? Not really.

AgreedThe Zerg is fast enough

I've got to find you in WvW this week. I like the way you think.

Like gliding they would be limited to your own claimed land...Would make for some interesting routing involving taking of camps to break up mount response.it would also possibly help cut down on some zerg tactics as mounts would allow for better counterzerging, which would lend to more strategic multiple target raids and better counter-play possibility. We do not see as mcuh supply starving atm, but we might see that again to help get into keeps easier.

I cant see the hard outside of the response times that home map defenders will be granted.... and i dont think that is a bad thing either.

After spending about 8 hours playing around with mounts in pve land:

  • Yes, totally want mounts in wvw
  • Absolutely do not let mounts have their upgraded abilities (1200 range leap on raptor). This gives literally anyone who has them, thief levels of mobility with no investment/usage of your own skills.
  • Perhaps restrict mounts to not work in enemy territories. Bunnies leaping into enemy towers, or raptors leaping from outer wall to inner walls could be very problematic.
  • Like gliding, CCs should dismount the player.

Which would take away the optional combos that give speed. If people want speed and mobility, take a class or an item, or a signet, or, and this one is really asking a lot, work together to get run speed.

Yes, but:

  • disable engage- and movement skills
  • only usable in your own territory, like gliding
  • hitting a mounted person instantly dismounts and inflicts launch and/or 10%HP worth of damage.
  • (optionally) you can only mount in your starting areathe point is to let you get back into action faster without offering a direct advantage in combat.

No.

Their skills are unbalanced, they offer immunity to various soft-CCs, getting out of combat is even more essential to keep up with anyone (friend or foe), they nulify movement speed runes/traits/signets as an investment and other deliberate movement speed choices someone can invest into, defenders can already return quickly, there are already tools to very rapidly redeploy to defend, and we certainly don't need even faster zergballing around the map.

Yes because forcing ever singly Warrior in WvW to take GS just to move around at a reliable pace is both fun and balanced.

Not.

Lol. But negating theif mobility is smart also?

You forget, thief needs a weapon set AND traits to be as mobile as you feel they are. So, you shouldn't?
