When should I play?

Everytime I load into WvW there seems to be nobody doing anything, or maybe there's a small group for a short time. When am I supposed to play, and why is there nobody around for most of the day?

First, are you on an NA or on an EU server?

Then: do you want Zergs or small groups..

NA, SBI.

I usually like to play zergs, but small groups are fine too - any kind of group actually playing it is all I want

Most NA servers have most of their population on during prime time which is usually 8-12pm est. After that really depends on the server on the population coverage they have. What times do you usually play?

check wvwstats.com check the timezone of sbi to see where they are thick =)

I play randomly, whenever I have the chance really.

SBI is only really active in NA Primetime. I think even in comparison to other servers, it's pretty late-NA heavy. It starts getting pretty active around 7 PM pacific. Off-hours are very quiet, but that also depends on the server link. Also this week has been kind of quiet as well.

edit: I should clarify, you will still find small groups before that time as well. You just won't find that many big zergs.

Play at reset. That's the real population spike.

When ever you want. Population is dependant on your server. Usually it gets more crowded in the late afternoon / evening hours. So if big groups fighting is what you're after. That is your timegate. Perhaps swap to a more populated server will probably help too.
