Getting hit mid-dodge

As far as I know, this should not happen except in 2 situations:

• dodging into Line of Warding
• getting pulled by a dh: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Pull_(guardian_skill)

This was neither of those. Why did I get hit mid-dodge here?

I think, when something was targeting you, while you were not dodging and hit you, while you were dodging, then it still will hit you.

But this is just a first assumption.

You dropped mines on dodge from the trait and the elementalist still had shocking aura active as they ran over one stunning you.You can see it more clearly in the slow motion at 13 seconds as the elementalists health drops the moment you are stunned.

So I guess the question is: why does shocking aura interrupt dodge? Seems like it goes against the way GW2 combat normally functions..

When you attack static aura you get stunned; Dan is saying, your mines when you dodge counts as an attack. Therefore you would get stunned because you attack a shocking aura.
