Are BLC's being updated for SAB

Last year the Black Lion Chests where updated for SAB, but this year they have not changed so far, are we expecting a change?

If they did not change during the patch (on Tuesday), then I would expect not.

The current BLC selection is relatively new, but with SAB going live today (Thursday), they may do an update with the standard patch next Tuesday. There's been no confirmation by Anet either way.

Technically, the BL chest contents are divided into "seasons" that change on an irregular basis. So far, I believe each change has happened to coincide with the release of content that fits the theme of the new content. However, there have been plenty of updates that have not included a change.

Since the seasonal rework began in October 2016, there have been 14 different chests in 17 months, roughly every 4-6 weeks. The last chest released on 6 March, less than 4 weeks ago, i.e. it's too soon for a new 'season' of chests.

Update: looking at the data,

• The average length of a cycle is ~38 days.
• The shortest cycle was 21 days; there have been three chests that lasted less than 4 weeks (LNY '17, Elonian Seeker's, Lunatic Court '17)
• The longest cycle was was 86 days; there were four chests that lasted over 7 weeks (Halloween '16, Lake Doric, Sworn of Balthazar, Return to Orr)
• There have been at least 3 major releases (as defined on the wiki) without a chest update. (That doesn't count some of the balance patches and other smaller, QoL scheduled updates to the game.)

That would put it at the four-week mark, so I'd agree: the next scheduled release will also see a change in BL Chest contents.
