So! A common thing i've been hearing, and experiencing is the fact that guardian seems a bit "dated" in terms of its balancing and skills. Due to this, I propose these further changes to a few of their systems.
Replace Shield of Judgement (4) with an animation of a block, but rather than a straight out block it should give a means of damage reduction. Around 33-50% for 3-5 seconds while pulsing protection to nearby allies (and only allies) for that duration. Alternatively, make it so that way it creates a zone behind the guardian in which allies need to stand to receive the damage reduction.
Change Shield of Absorption (5) to offer a barrier or an aegis upon detonation rather than a heal.
I believe with these changes, it would make the shield seem like more of a defensive weapon and allow it to have enough uniqueness to fit with the theme of a traditional guardian while also allowing it to have enough utility to both be viable, and stand apart from other offhand weapons which I believe also need reworks.
MEDITATIONS: Rather than a complete meditation overhaul, I'd suggest looking at one of the guardians major weakness. Mobility.
Change Judges Intervention/ Merciful Intervention so that it uses an ammunition system, to balance the amount of charges, I'd suggest lowering the damage/heals and altering the cooldowns appropriately.
This change would allow guardians to have slightly more mobility on the battlefield, which is greatly needed. this could be used to jump to an enemy who is assaulting an ally who is in need of aid, or allow the guardian to better stick on a target.
I'd love to hear all of your thoughts about this suggestion. It'd be nice for guardians get a bit of love from the dev's in regards to identity and functionality.
