Firebrand or Scourge first?

In a fight what's the higher priority to take down? If you try to kill scourge first, the FB sustain will make it very tanky to take down even if scourge is running curses and not blood but if you go for FB first, the necro gets room to freecast and counter pressure you.

Whichever is closer to you/more out of position. They are both high value targets. I dont understand why people always put a target on the necro (even when there's 2) and just start tunnel vision diving 10 miles off point and dont even peel for their own fb/necro. It's just like in MOBAs you dont dive well positioned carries unless you want to trade a team wipe for maybe 1 kill

Makes sense but what if there are 2 scourge and 1 fb? Happens sometimes in games and usually that a mid loss from the get go but if you were trying to contest would you go for one of the necros instead?

If you have a chrono you can go for the firebrand, but it will be rough to ever get it down with the transfuses and barrier spam from 2 necros.

In general if you can get all the mantra charges off the firebrand with a burst they HAVE to peel off. I think firebrand is an okay target now. Focusing scourge just pressures them and removes a lot of damage potential so in general it's the better target.

In that scenario you rotate and cap the other two points where you outnumber the rest of their team, then snowball the 3 or move around them until they split up

This. If the enemy team is running double Scourge + Firebrand, you never really want to teamfight unless you also have double Scourge + Firebrand. Rotate around them and pick them off mid-rotations because both classes are very slow.

The mesmeer necro is freecasting though!

If a Firebrand and Scourge is in mid I would let my team know it is best just to do sides and give up fighting in mid. haha
