Character bug

My character is completely broken and unplayable. On the character screen it says 0% map completion and when I press play I get an infinite loading screen loop (which has absolutely no map completion stats at all) for the new Desert Highlands map and then it says it can't connect. It won't even send me back to the oasis like it usually does. I literally cannot play on the character. Is anyone else getting this issue? (also yes, I have played on the Desert Highlands map before and was making some decent progress on it.)

I have another character who is also unplayable right now but at least I can see their map completion percentage. Why is it only one of them?
