Anet maybe less doom and gloom?

Every new map now has a lot of doom and gloom. I just wondered if anet can tone down the "killing off everyone" and end of the world stuff a pinch.My favorite map back in the day was queensdale because of how pretty and relaxing it is. Now all these new maps and stories are very intense a bit into doom and gloom.Just maybe for the next new map or etc make it look happy a bit or have some nice things happen. :)

I get that the intensity of stuff hitting the fan captivates people, but I just want 1 new map that is more happy or something in the next story chapter that is more happy.A new character or something nice.

People kept asking for more 'dark', serious content.

Well dark/serious content is good. I just wanted something to help me relax in the new maps for next time. Like 1 happyish map or something super positive like a new character or 2.

Conflict is what drives most stories. Without conflict there is rarely a tale to tell, exemplified in the classic journalism saying, "If it bleeds, it leads."

On a happier, shinier note, there's a new unicorn finisher in the Gem Shop full of rainbows and glitter.

I glide on a giggling cloud, that helps negate doom and gloom.

Next meta event: Pet all the puppies and skip gayly through fields of clovers and rainbows while glitterbombing kittens.

God of war and an undead necro king im liking this a lot! :D

you can feel the world going to heck around you, magic out of control torn between three powerful enemies, its like GW1 all over again in tone I love it!

I kind of agree with the OP. There was a place in the original maps for beauty, lightheartedness and a sense of wonder. That has mostly fallen by the wayside. The story now is no more serious than the original, and the maps could still include such things without distracting from the story. The beauty of the game was one of its best features, and that has largely been supplanted with rubble. Mostly beige/brown rubble.

I like it. What is still missing is that we can pick a side, eg become an ally of elder dragons or balthazar.

Those would be nice too. I'm kind of tired of these uber-edgy teen angst storylines. And it's pointless to introduce characters, and then almost instantly kill them off: why should anyone care about them, if they barely know them?

This game needs a 'beach episode'. Something lighthearted to break the constant trend of gloom and doom.

There were things in HoT that were pretty uplifting. Taimi discovering Rata Novus, Glint & that renewal... Etc.On the other hand PoF does have some cool things like helping people out, being the, "Good guys", and so on!

Doom and gloom is great. Keep it coming.

But then in a story perspective, it's inevitable that fights and clashes will happen sooner or later. Each dragon awakening will only bring death, then entities going rogue into the mix adds for more death/dark/seriousness. If you want even darker content though, try playing Path of Exile, it can get pretty gruesome at times.

New client seemed to fix login issue for me.

It's not all doom & gloom. Canach and Rytlock are constantly one-upping each other, Taimi has a sarcasm meter, and there's an entire village of Quaggan Cactuses.

I was chased by a few when I was super sleepy and was zoomed in on the face. Kind of freaked me out a bit.

I like to think of it as an epic bromance for the ages. They keep acting like they don't like each other and then they slip up. It's amazing
