Josif.2015
Hello everyone!Just wanted to let you know my build for core engineer can be found on Metabattle called the Jack Of All Trades.
Vagrant.7206
This is actually very similar to older core engineer builds. Looks like the bulk of the damage comes from grenades and elixir bomb, yes? How well has it held up in ranked?

Only a few rounds away from platinum. I don't only play core engineer. I play core warrior, thief and elementalist. Those professions have viable core builds. I just thought to share this build as I think that it still holds up and in my opinion is better than Chaiths' build (no offence, Chaith). The person who wrote Chaiths' build on Metabattle was clearly lazy, barely wrote any tips on how to use the build compared to what I wrote.Do keep in mind, this build does require memorizing cooldown on skills and swapping kits to be effective. And yes, rebinding the auto attack on the Grenade Kit is very useful for kiting. I use F for the auto attack and C for skill 2.
Chaith.8256
Imo, the best trait on Core Engi right now is sanguine array. I wouldn't play a build without it

I'm not preventing you from using it. I just prefer having more sustain than damage, especially now with the current state that some of the elite specializations are in. Yes, this build is very similar to the Celestial Rifle build, only it's a power version that I've been using when I started playing engineer. My opinion on Sanguine Array or just the Firearms specialization in general, I don't see much benefit from it other than gain might from bleeding, fury and deal damage for each condition on your foe. Firearms is more of a damage focused specialization, whereas Tools gives utility. Using the Tool kit without Tools heavily impacts the kit.I do recommend you try this build one day when you stream (yes, I watch your streams). It's really good because something that you may have not noticed is that Elixir S has a 60 seconds cooldown, 48 if using the HGH trait. The Elixir Guns' stun breaker Healing Mist has a 35 seconds cooldown, but when combined with the HGH trait and the Tools specialization the cooldown goes from 35 seconds to 24 seconds. As for using Streamlined Kits, I chose Rune of the Pack because of the increased crit chance and the increased swiftness duration. This one time, I remember at the very end of a ranked PvP match I hovered my mouse on the swiftness boon to check how much swiftness time I had. It was over two minutes. Two! Minutes!Again, I'm only recommending it, not forcing it on you. Also, yes the person that posted your build on Metabattle gave it a horrible name and needs to learn how to spell. Imo, you need to carve out viability by specializing in carrying teamfights. The staying power that eGun provides is largely for side nodes, if your goal is to be a presence in teamfights, double S and stealth is more survivability vs. multi-enemy assaults. Elixir X has much larger teamfight impacts as well.Streamlined kits is nice, however it's weak to SB/Scourge boon rip with its infrequent application. 2minutes of swiftness hardly has a large benefit over lynx/traveler as well. The damage is worlds apart too. If you want to 1v1 and teamfight you can't really be successful at either with Core Engi it seems.
