Beta character name still unavailable

Anyone else still having issues with their beta character name not being available? The game tells me the name is unavailable at creation, and when I try to send a mail to it in game I get the "You cannot send to yourself" error, so I know it's still tied to my account. I contacted support about it last week and never got any help other than a general "names will be available at launch". I'm mostly just curious if anyone else is having the issue, since I contacted support again but with the inevitably huge increase in support tickets surrounding launch I doubt I'll get a reply any time soon.

I checked GW2 Efficiency yesterday morning and the beta characters were still showing up. I have not been able to check since then because the API is down. It appears as if they have not removed them yet. I have not seen an Anet comment on this issue yet, but may have overlooked it if there has been one.

this makes me glad I just tacked "Beta" onto the end of one of my character names when makeing characters for the beta.
