Banner/Merchant drop location

I dropped some support for banners from blc and Tried to get rid of them by spam dropping them in an inconspicuous spot but the game wouldn't let me drop them too close. It would be nice if the game treated nodes and banners/merchants this way. Although it is nice to refresh your banner buffs, it's kind of annoying when it sits right on a rich node making it hard to harvest. It would be nice if the game pushed it a bit away from the node or just did not allow you to drop it there. I understand the merch is often an auto drop from a consumable but feel like the banner is more a troll tactic. It's not gamebreaking but as an avid node humper it is kind of irritating.
