WarriorBalanced Stance: Fixed a bug in which this skill granted bonus toughness from the Rousing Resilience trait, even when it was not breaking a stun.Using Balanced Stance while this is equipped will grant bonus-toughness whether a stun is broken or not.

err how is this a bug?wiki:

NotesUsing Balanced Stance while this is equipped will grant bonus-toughness whether a stun is broken or not.

have used don't anymore, cant see this promoting build diversity.

Rousing Resilience:Gain toughness and health when you break out of a stun.

if you are not break stun with Balanced Stance , you don't get any heal or toughness buff.

good patch, need more nerfs to warrior healing abilities.

The bug was introduced with the trait, years back. I heard about it from ArenaNet themselves, as they mentioned it in a certain release note, although they did not qualify it as a bug at the time, because Rousing Resilience, being fresh and underwhelming, was in a severe need of love.

At the time, no one would use that trait, even with the Balanced Stance bonus. Cleansing Ire was way too strong and necessary. They later refused to change Cleansing Ire (splitting the adrenaline gain with the condition cleanse), and with the Berserker introduced more synergies with the stun breaking (a fine idea). It helped a bit, but was not significant.

Later, they reduced the number of adrenaline bars a warrior can spend in an elite spec (but only after Berserker had sold well enough), to nerf many traits as side effects, and only at this time Cleansing Ire lost its value to the players. Everyone then took the easy road, "carried-by-passive" Last Stand. Many players had even taken this road before the nerf - because after all once you've solved the adrenaline generation problem, you just have to avoid conditions rather than cleansing them...

They kept the idea in the Spellbreaker, having a reduced number of adrenaline bars, and after it had sold well (again), they finally nerfed the passives (but only in PvP - in WvW it's as crazy as ever, quite a shame). Then people finally turned to Rousing Resilience, and opponents started to think they were losing not because of their own fighting skills, but because of that bug - which is kind of laughable, yet of course not unusual.

It's definitely good they fixed the bug, but it tells a ton about their balancing when it takes years to have things moving forward. It's not really their fault, the way their systems is designed prevents adequate skill splitting, and the competitive game is so underrepresented that they don't care much and prefer to have OP traits/skills for PVE-oriented players to enjoy. That's a rational decision, although trying and going e-sports with such constraints was a rather strange one...
