Guild Wars had a lot of achievements which presented us with title progression (from "hero" to "legendary hero", from "sweet tooth" to "Connoisseur of Confectionaries", etc.). They were grindy and long term projects. But they were awesome. They provided long term goals (the "end" title) while providing you with relatively short term rewards (the titles before the last one).
I've always wondered why this didn't transfer to gw2. We've got plenty of achievements and easy/hard to get titles but why isn't there this kind of achievement/title progression tied into the core gameplay.
As I'm a mainly a PvP'er, a prime example would be the "champion" (class) titles. Why stop at 150 wins and one title?
