PoF Meta Replayability - why dont they drop Amalgamated Gemstone?

Pretty Easy way to fix PoF Meta replayability, add a 100% chance of a amalgamated Gemstone in the Big PoF meta events (Casino, Treasure Hunt, Ascension, Maw of Torment, Serpents Ire).They are required for both PoF and HoT legendaries and you can buy shards in ls4 maps too, so why not drop amalgamated Gemstones in the PoF metas too, just like in the HoT metas?

If you want to craft a gen2 legendary, you need them anyway, both in the HoT and PoF crafting way, so why dont they drop in PoF metas?

The first step to getting people to do Maw meta would be getting it working reliably first.

Forged in fire seems a bit too out of the way

Serpent's Ire? I think this has been covered in other places already.

Augury Rock - the progression of this feels a bit disjointed

Casino Blitz seems fine as it is.

Buried Treasures? What is in Desert Highlands anyway? The general issue with treasure maps has also been covered in other threads as well.

I don't know if you've noticed, but thats ALL over the game. The passive accumulation of crafting items that eventually kick off a moment of OCD, which sends you down the rabbit hole that is this game's high end crafting projects.

So where is the primary reward something account bound only usable for a very narrow set expensive goals, outside of activities specifically made for that goal? The only thing I can come up with is map completion which seems a rather different type of activity than meta events...

  • Crystalline Ore has more uses, you never get Ingots as a reward.
  • Amagamated Gemstones are tradeable.
  • Mystic Coins have several other usues and are tradeable.

Anything to get the people back. I still love HoT and spend most of my time running the metas there, but recently I spent a couple of hours in PoF zones to find something to get stuck in. But apart from bounty trains, there's nothing going on... such a waste of great zones.

Except the map currency (trade contracts) are utterly worthless, We have thousands of them rotting because you can't spend them without also spending karma, and not just a little karma but hundreds of thousands of karma.

And those "alternate uses" are also crafting related, or at the very least gear related. In the case of crystalline ore, its also a currency that leads to collections and crafting recipes and supplies. The only 2 aspects of the game that aren't designed to feed back directly into crafting and collections is WvW (which has framework for self sufficiency, albeit poor) and Core Personal story (which gives out direct rewards). The crafting use is what gives the majority of these items value.

The argument here is that FI would be a poor reward as it's valuable only if making a legendary through Desert Mastery.

You claim "that's all over the game", yet bring up that most rewards "funnel toward crafting".That's completely beside the point! The point is that FI has no value whatsoever unless you yourself is working on this singular type of goal through this specific method, as they are account bound. Tell me anywhere else in the game that is true of the reward for a general activity like a meta?

That's why they give us choices in these daily meta reward chests. For some it'd be worth a lot for others it would be practically worthless and they would choose something else from the list of options.
