Returning Player Coming Back to Mesmer

Hi y'all. I played for awhile past launch and have decided to return in the last few days. Trying to get back into the game and noticed my mesmer is feeling off. How have they changed the gameplay in the last few years?

You don't have to follow those builds, but they will probably help you get a grip on what the current thoughts about builds and play styles are.

The major change with Mesmer happened a few months ago where they reworked Phantasms. Phantasms are now no longer permanent, they perform one attack and turn into a clone. They also don't count toward the illusion limit and can't be shattered. To compensate a lot of Phantasms and Mesmer skills had their damage increased. Some of the Phantasms got changed too.
